2010 MLB All-Star Game Thread
Watching the opening sequence about the regular type people all-stars now. Ben Affleck looked like he just crawled out of bed with Matt Damon to record his part.... how about a shave and running a comb through your hair, buddy?
Also, it's going to take something insanely unbelievable to happen during the game to best the most unbelievable thing I've seen so far.... Matthew McConaughey actually wearing a shirt for his filmed pieces.

10 minutes of commercials -- return for 2 minutes to throw out the first pitch -- 10 more minutes of commercials... I know this is the norm any more, but were pushing 9pm and haven't even thrown a pitch yet. so annoying.

Oh yikes, Braun could have totally broken his wrist making that diving catch. Thank goodness he appears to be OK.

Yeah, as he was making that catch I was imaging the Brewers front office people having a heart attack.

Okay, first of all... I can't fathom that FreeCreditReport.com is planning on replacing the band from the last couple of years of ads with any one of these bands that have been on display tonight. They have all been garbage (okay, the 3 I've seen have been garbage.... there may have been some half decent while I stepped away at 10 to watched the just DVRd episode of The Deadliest Catch from 9pm).
Second: could the National League be preparing to party like it's 1996?

If anyone doubts the old adage that great pitching beats great hitting, they just need look at the All-Star Game. Rarely do teams score more than 5 or 6 runs. Given the quality of lineups, against normal MLB pitching these teams would put up 10+ runs per game. And the American League has one of their best lineups in years and have only scored 1 run. This has been a very well pitched game.
