40-man minor leaguer to DL not working?
Not sure if this is a bug or not. I am trying to move a minor leaguer on my 40-man roster on to the DL so that I can put someone else on the 40-man roster.
I tried the most obvious things, which is to drag and drop to the disabled list (whether in “Waivers & DFA” or “Minor Leagues” or “Disabled List” subpages of the “Transactions” page), an info window pops up and says “Move Players to the lower section of this page in order to remove him from the secondary roster.” When I right click on the player and go to transactions, there is no “move to DL” transaction (I don’t know if there should be or not). If I try to drag from a minor league staff window in “Minor Leagues” to the DL, it (the pop-up box) says “The DL is not for minor league players!” – however, I should be able to DL the guy because he is on my 40-man I would actually be fine with DFAing him, but when I try to do so, it says “The player is injured, put him on the DL instead!” – actually, I just installed the 1.0.1 patch, and now when I do this it says “Unable to perform invalid transaction. Drop players into the lower right corner to remove them from the 40-man roster.” When I try to follow that instruction, it says “This player has to clear waivers before he can be taken off the secondary (40-man) roster. Suggestion: Put the player on waivers and designate him for assignment.”- which is exactly what I just tried to do Thanks for your help. Last edited by tk19; 07-09-2006 at 01:55 PM. |

Minor league players cannot be moved to the DL. Only players on the active roster can.

If you're right, though, then the "bug" is that I can't DFA someone who happens to be injured. |

Obviously IRL any player who is injured and on the 40 man roster can be placed on the 60-day DL if needed.

Yep, the check for the DL should be the 40-man roster, not the active roster. |

I had another issue that I wasn't going to bother starting a new thread about but maybe I should. I can't find the "Waivers" window under the league transactions anymore. I really remember seeing it earlier, but I think around the time the draft pool was posted, that was a new tab, and I think the "Waivers" tab disappeared. I can still see players on Waivers by going into the transactions window for each individual team, and if I want to claim a player, I can right click on them there, so I have a workaround. |

I don't know...I was just throwing my in that I think it needs to be fixed. Keep checking back and if you don't see a TT# listed somewhere in the thread keep bumping it.

I totally agree that this DL for the 40 man roster needs to be addressed. I am a Major League manager trying to keep up with Minor League rosters with about 20 LONG TERM injured players. I have been demoting them all to my lowest Rookie league team just so they are all in one place, but I would much prefer to be able to get them off the active Minor league rosters. With the 40 man DL available, I could place them on the 40 man, then DL them to the 60 day DL which would remove them from the 40 man. This would act like a minor league DL system for me!

I've seen this to and can comfirm that it happens no matter how you try to DL the player. The only workaround is unrealistic but you would have to demote an active player, promote the injured player to the active roster, DL him, and then promote the player you demoted. Unrealistic yes, but if the guy you demote has options left it will work until it gets fixed.
When you see your thread drop from the first page keep giving it your polite bumps. There are a lot of things going on right now but someone will eventually see it. |
