I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but I recently took over a major league level team after managing in AAA (post-patch BTW). It's now eraly in January 2008, and all staff members signed through 2007 are still with their respective clubs.

I was waiting for quality guys to fill my hitting and pitching coach roles, but the guys I want are still with their clubs after their contracts have expired.

Yeah, I believe that I noticed that when completing a season with the new patch. I had a scout who was signed through the previous season on a one-year contract who just somehow got an extra year put on his contract when he should have left the team. Also, the guy's experience in number of years went from zero to ... zero, well into his second season.

Has anyone seen coaches or scouts actually leave a team when their contracts run out?

I've set up three different seasons, and played through 1.5+ years on each. The scouts and coaches never left my team, and no other team released any at any point, except when a manager was fired for poor performance. It's interesting to be in mid- to late-2007 and see coaches who must be working for the love of the game, as their contracts expired in 2006...

Not a large bug, but one that can be annoying if you start out with some bad coaches and/or scouts...

(Oh, and yes, I have patched.)

I just finished my first season and the personnel whose contracts expired in 2006 have not left my team. It's currently sometime in February, 2007, and I still have these dudes on my staff. Their contract expiration dates even read 2006. What's the deal?? Is there no staff signing time? And why aren't these stiffs off my team?

Yes, it's been brought up and hopefully being fixed. There's no "calendar usage 101" classes for staff yet.

I had my two lowest rated scouts contracts were to expire at the end of the season. I looked at other teams and saw there were better scouts who I should be able to hire when the contracts expire. I kept waiting for my scouts to drop off and kept checking the available personnel for the other scouts. The next season started and my scouts were rehired with contracts set to run through the 2007 season and they were making the same money as the previous season. Did I miss something here or do the scout and coach contracts never truly expire?

Right now they never leave. I didn't think they renewed though... my guys don't. I'm in 2009 and have guys who say their contract expires in 2006... so 2006 years after time rolls over to 0 they'll leave... maybe.

I went through to look at this and they do renew in the league I play in... for some reason my test league I created they don't. They seem to renew when the season begins (they weren't renewed in May 2007, it still showed through 2006) but in September they show "through 2007".

It's also inverting the Handles veterans and handles rookies ratings when it shows on the personnel page... in the profile he shows rated 7 handling rookies, 5 handling veterans... but on the personnel page it shows opposite.

Can someone provide the league details for a league in which this happened? Fictional? Standard? Historical?

Beautiful. Hopefully the next pacth update will be released before I hit the offseason, which shouldn't be a problem, since I have less time to play now that my schedule has changed, but at least i can continue with my playoff run now!
