some world series observations

Well, after 3 years of running the expansion Portland Beavers, with Rollins 1.1 roster set, i finally made it to and won the WS.

I played out every game this last season, which i think might have to do with me winning it all, something about simmin the games just doesnt seem right. Especially when it comes to handling how long a MR stays out on the mound.

Anyways, a couple odd things happened when playing the WS out..

1st, 2 of my pitchers had Home Runs. Woods went yard in game 1 and Tankersley went yard in game 3, i thought that was very strange. Woods won his game all around with his 1 hit allowed, 12k, no walks and 1 homer for the 1-0 win. Tankersley was just a equally as dominate, but went 2-3, with a 2 run homer.

What the hell? Im in the AL, my pitchers dont know how to hit!

The 2nd odd thing, well not so much odd, but annoying. Woods supposedly had the club record for k's in a season. But everytime he got a K in the postseason, the announcer would 'announce' "he just set the teams record for number of K in a year!" EVERY TIME he got a K. really annoying, and on top of that, he didnt lead the club in K's and it wasnt the regular season anymore!

One thing that would be nice is a more robust news screen during the playoffs, no hype in the playoffs is kinda a let down. this is when the game should really shine.

Hmm what else, oh yes. I traded Ted Lilly to the Padres sometime in June. Whenever i would notice he was pitching for the Padres, i would check out too see how well he did, but he never actually got the start. It would say he was starting on the schedule screen, but when the game was said and done, he never played. BUT he did get credit for the pitchers stats for that game. Weird.

Other than that stuff, this game is amazing. Im totally hooked.

Congrats on the WS win.

I've had many a picther hitting HR in the WS as well. It's strange, no doubt. But, it's good to have unlikely heroes, no?

I agree that there should be more post-season hype. Heck, more season hype too. I think a lot of people have been asking for more in-depth news reports and things like that, so perhaps it'll happen sometime soon.
