Why can't I sign this free agent
I sent my scout to Australia to scout the baseball league there and he came back with a list of vets and prospects to consider. A couple of the vets were not currently on teams. For some reason, I cannot offer them a contract. What am I missing?
I am a major league GM in the offseason for the MLB. The Australian league is in season. Is there a rule that I overlooked? Both leagues are setup to allow free agents to leave and be signed from outside. the players in question do not appear on the free agent page of either league (I hope the free agent list is league independent), but their player profile, contract status says free agent. BTW, This is after patching. Last edited by noble; 06-16-2006 at 04:32 PM. |

Can you tell us what your league setup and financial settings are?

Have you tried to sign the FA from the player profile screen via offering a contract in the action drop down menu?

I have an australian league setup as international, MLB-like leagues with minors etc in the US, anotherinternational league in Mexico. all leagues are allowed to sign free agents and free agents are allowed to leave the league. I have tweaked the financials so only the MLB league can afford to better players.
I send my scouts to check out the mexican and australian leagues. from their reports, I find players that are not on teams: the player profile says "no team" and contract status says free agent. from the player profile, as GM of a MLB-like team, the action list usually has "offer contract". but with these guys, that choice is not there. I tried shortlisting them righ clicking on the shortlist, but "offer contract" is not there. They do not show up on the league free agents page either. |

When you look at the player card, is there blank space next to their names or circles with team names? Even if the contract status says free agent?

I'm sorry for the awfully slow response to this thread.
![]() Obviously, some time has passed since you posted this issue, and the 1.0.2 patch has since been released as well. Are you still seeing this issue? I have not been able to reproduce it so far. Please let me know! Thanks, Steve |

I don't think this is an issue any longer. Thanks for looking into it.
