Qrusher,
I was getting this error, too, but then I was getting a second message after it, that was saying "get_age - invalid date".

I found that one of my players in the sim (Terrence Long) had a bad birth day (listed his birthday as 2/29/1977).

Not sure if this helps, but just so you feel like you're not the only one who's seen that error...

Same thing

I had the same problem. I thought oh no this is going to be a problem. When the message popped up, I just clicked every time. Every thing seemed to be fine after the import was completed.

I tried letting it run, but it crashed with 'OOTP6 has encountered an error and needs to close'

I am trying & failing to import a 6.5 league that is on opening day 2012. The results are similar to this thread except for the "calendar date" messages:
http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...ight=Importing

I find the league.dat file, click 'confirm' and the progress bar is immediately at 33%. It stays there about 30 seconds, then to 50%, then a pop-up that says "League import failed - could not import teams!" Obviously this is somewhat of a concern for owners in one of the oldest OOTP online leagues. Has anybody who has had this import error (there are a few similar threads) been successful in completing an import? If so, any tips?

Additional details:
The league has 28 teams, we are using the final OOTP 6.5 update patch, and we are in the year 2012. It's an online league with some amount of password protection. I have tried the import from 2 different PC's in case there was a path issue importing a league from 1 drive to another.

Note: I am carefully following all available import instructions.

I tried one OOTP 6.5 import on opening day (April 5th I think) and a different import attempt on April 1st, so that's not it. It's obviously not happening to nearly everyone but it is happening to some users (there are at least 2 posts besides mine about it). I also wonder exactly how many leagues have attempted the import too, many might be waiting for their leagues to get to the correct point in the schedule for importing. What I am thinking is that either the game doesn't like the fact we have only 28 teams instead of 30, or it does not like the fact we are well into the future (2012). Beyond that I can't think of anything unusual in our league.

OK, now that we're in the "proper forum" (thanks TC), can Qrusher and others please confirm:

If you try importing this league with the patched version, do you still get an error?

I had this exact same thing happen to me when I was trying to import a 6.5 league I was using. I found that, after you click the "ok" button when you receive the error, if you go up to the tabs and click on the "Names & Affiliations" tab, the league would magically appear, and I could continue on with the import as if nothing happened. I was able to then go ahead, add minor leagues, adjust settings, etc... as if the error never occured.

This doesn't solve the error by any means, but at least I was able to get my 6.5 league into OOTP.

Please try importing after the patch. I know I had major problems importing with 1.0.0 but 1.0.1 went smoothly.

I was using the new patch when importing so that was not it, but kingcharlesxii may have found the solution to this issue in another forum (set league date in OOTP BBMGR before import), so I'll update this post with my results after I try the suggestion. Thanks to kingcharlesxii & everyone else who weighed in for your assistance.

June 8th Update: No solution after all, you don't need to set the league date before importing a OOTP 6.5 league. Also, it appears this issue is different than Hoeksam's bad date error as I checked the player birthdays (plus I didn't get his "CALENDAR_DATE" error messages).

I'll keep watching this thread and bumping as needed. If I get a solution I'll post it here as well.

Killebrew, assuming you haven't resolved this, I think we need a copy of your league file so we can try to replicate this over here... Could you please PM Marc D, or if you can host it somewhere, post a link to your league file here (and probably PM someone with the commish PW )

Thanks battists, I just resolved this today - here's what happened. The game gave me the import error message at 50%. The league name was not in the lower left box, and the league structure tab was blank so I always cancelled out of this 'import 6.5 league' screen. Today I snooped around after the import error and saw the tab next to "league structure" was populated with my teams. At the time my league name also appeared in the lower left hand box. When I went back to the league structure tab the info was suddenly there. I continued from here and am now able to do tests in this imported 6.5 league.

Something about our league structure caused the game to freak on import, but it appears to have worked in spite of this error so all is well. Thank you to everyone in this thread for your encouragement/idea's etc..
