Philadelphia Phillies 2006 Onwards
firstly, i am playing out this dynasty on a quickstart game called MLB Quickstart 2.0 by avsfan534.
A bit of background information about myself. I live in england, and was a massive fan of teh NFL, since the first team i ever watched was the Philadelphia eagles, they became my team. When the NFL season ended i had a major feeling of emptiness inside me, so i treid to get in to baseball, and since i supported the Philadelphia eagles, i instantly fell in love with the Philadelphia Phillies. Baseball has since then eclipsed The NFL as my favourite sport. I then stumbled across this fine management game. I decided to write about my dynasty for a laugh more than anything else, if any of you take an interest then great, if not....ahhh well. This is my first time doing anything like this, so to start off with it may not be very good but rest assured i will improve. Later on will be an update of the first couple of games in what should hopefully be an amzing season. Cheers for reading |

3rd April 2006 - My first job in management was to tackle a 3 game series with the St Louis Cardinals. A tough one in my opinion. I decided that Jon Lieber would head my rotation, whereas the Cardinals went for Chris Carpenter. The one thing that concerned me most was a batter named Albert Pujols, anyone heard of him. When he stepped up to the plate there was 2 outs in the first inning. I had to decide, do i walk him or pitch to him. I went for the latter, and Jon Lieber responded by striking him out, to my great relief. The game finished 4-1 to the mighty phils. Jon Lieber had a good start to his season pitching 7 innings and allowing only 1 run. In the eighth i bought in Arthur Rhodes to close it out and he repsonded by throwing 2 shut out innings. After my first game in charge i was confident for the rest of the season.

5th April 2006- The second game in a 3 game series with the Cards. I went with Bret Myers as the pitcher. After dealing with Pujols so effectively in the first game, i decided maybe he wasnt going to be an influence, boy was i wrong. 2 out top of the first. Pujols steps up and blasts a one run home run. I though this wasnt going to be my day. However Aaron Rowand responded by hitting one of his own and the game is tied. As we headed to the ninth the game was tied at 2. My first bad managerial decsion followed. I relieved Bret Myers with Tom Gordon who allowed 3 runs at the tope of the ninth setting his ERA to 27.00. We failed to respond and therefore got our first loss of the season.
