Pitcher's Days Off Not Working at all???

I have Endurance set to High to make sure pitchers go deep into the game

(A global pitching limit would be a nice option by the way)

But I still want pitcher to have to wait until they have at least 3 days rest between starts.

A nice feature would be an indicator to how many days rest a pitcher has had if he threw more than X pitches the previous day(s)

As is it now, some team's pitchers are pitching on one days rest. I.E. pitching a complete game on Monday and coming back and starting on Wednesday....

Days rest is one of the most important aspects of baseball...

I know the Rest Status has pitches thrown - but would be neat to see that on lineup page or roster page of
all pitchers....

I know I can do 'enforce rotation' but I wish it would just pitch the best pitcher after they have had enough rest but have rest-days enforced....

Set Endurance to High or Very High and set rotation size to 4 man. The larger the rotation setting, the longer it takes for pitchers to recover between games. Personally, I haven't seen pitchers come around and pitch 2 days later in this game unless they *really* throw a low number of pitches in the first start. Like 50 or 60 (which they might do if they got knocked out of the box). Generally speaking, your frontline starters won't get into those situations very often anyway...

I didn't think of the rotation size - I had it set to 3... I am starting season two (1961) tonight. I won two rounds of the playoffs before losing to the eventual champion in the quarter-finals.... And one of my starting pitchers was injured about 2/3rds of the way through the season - I guess those starts on one days rest took their toll - LOL!!!

I will set to rotation to 4 and see what happens in 1961 and once again thanks for the heads up - just wish the pitching roster screens would show rest/pitches thrown.....

And of course, you want to make sure that you have your rotation mode set to "strict order" too. That may be one reason why they were coming back with so little rest -- a combination of high endurance plus "start highest rested starter" in the mode setting means that your guys would be coming back extra fast.

EDIT: I see from your original post that you wanted to avoid doing this, but I don't understand why. I presume the "strict rotation" setting exists partiuclarly for cases that you have described. It creates a minimum number of days of rest.

Eh, with a 4 man rotation your pitchers get that strict minimum 99% of the time anyway. I prefer "start highest rested starter" too because IRL a 5-man rotation doesn't end the season with every pitcher getting 32-33 starts. By automatically throwing every 5th game you can usually get in 36 or 37 starts for your #1 guy at the expense of your #5. That's more realistic to me.

No you're right. I had failed to see that you had already tried your recommended settings out on your own league. My bad.

Hi folks, and sorry for joining this party so late.

Well, after reading through that, I'm not sure that there's a technical support issue in there. Seems like there are some feature suggestions, but nothing that I can hang my Tech Support hat on.

With that in mind, I'm going to move this over to the Suggestions forum. Always open to discussing it more, though, if you feel there's a bug here.

Thanks,

Steve

Thanks! Would be nice to see a 'days since pitched' on the main roster page when setting lineup for the game. Perhaps something like (2) meaning 2 days rest....
