Memphis Logo Help (With Image)

I'm looking for some help is making this Image I've found into a logo.

I'd really love to be able to use this as a logo in some fashion. I love the font lettering, and I think if someone could clean it up, it's look great. it is however, a bit beyond my modest abilities to do.

I kept it simple and in a square format. I tried it circular and it just doesn't go well. Hope this is what you had in mind. I am not sure about what it will look like in the new game but it looks great in 6.5

to give it a bit more of a baseball image.... and to fill the open space in the right lower corner a bit...

Actually, I should have been a bit clearer. I wanted to remove the fancy surronding artwork, just keeping the MEMPHIS BLUES Part. That does look great, though.

Wow Sandman! That looked like a difficult image to convert to a logo but you did a great job. I think the batter image adds a nice touch to it too.

Just took a little time where the stain was in the image, other than that it was simple cutting and pasting after I cleaned up an area..... I like the simplicity of the logo, this would be perfect for an early 1900-1930 era logo....
