Having a small problem designing a custom skin. I am doing the following steps:
1. make a copy of the "ootp blue" skin in the skins directory; rename it to "silver". 2. Edit and save a couple of basic files, namely the frame_right, _corner, and _bottom. These are shown on the opening screen. 3. Load up OOTP, change skin to silver. My changes show up. Yippie! 4. Exit OOTP, and drasticly re-edit and save those same files... 5. Load OOTP, and my changes aren't showing up. My original edits are, however. I've also switched skins, and switched back to my silver, with the same results. My question is: Is there a cache that OOTP stores skin images in? I'm guessing that's the case, and I should clear that cache before/after editing files. Anyone know? |

It appears that the skin is assembled, so changes you make aren't incorporated until its reassembled. So....
What I've seen so far is that the skin gets assembled when OOTP starts up when... - the first time you call a skin after copy an existing skin and rename its folder or - you delete the skin's assembled file ...data\skins\SKINNAME\skin.bin If I make changes to skin images and don't reassemble skin.bin, changes won't show up. The reassembly can take a while, so be patient. |
