Historic Leagues are killing me
Using Ankits I'm having all kinds of problems running a straight sim from 1901 to present. First after two weeks some team would go below the legal number of pitchers. I added AAA, now my AAA teams are running out of players and the game stops. So if I go all the way down to rookie leagues (which I don't want anyway) and they have to send everyone up because of injuries, then what? Where does it end? I like the old ways where it didn't matter how many players were on a minor league roster. And I tried that invisible player thing too and it doesn't help.

The first historical league I tried (1904) stopped dead in its tracks when the Boston Pilgrims didn't have enough healthy players to field a team. But I tried a 2nd league (tried 1905 just to be different) and it went all the way through and I'm now at 1940 without a single problem.

Be very careful when you are using minor leagues with a historical league! There can be issues if your settings aren't correct, as minors weren't intended to be used with a historical league.
Tiger Fan posted in another thread yesterday about this same issue and gave some tips on how to avoid it by changing the settings. I also added a comment about how you have to be very careful about the settings of the schedules for your minor leagues because those most likely will be at odds with what the schedules being used by the major leagues. EDIT: Here are links to two threads where this same kind of issue was mentioned and Tiger Fan's prescription for solving it: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=120066 http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...d.php?t=119979 Last edited by Le Grande Orange; 06-01-2006 at 04:37 PM. |

I started a 1901 league with Ankits DB and I'm currently in 1933 and have ran into no problems in regards to teams not having enough players. I'm not using any minor leagues at all either. I have my injury setting on very low and player fatigue on low, so that probably has a lot to do with it.

I would suggest disabling injuries altogether for the first year of a historical sim, particularily in the deadball era when there are so few players to begin with. I have not had any problems enabling it at very low in the second season once you get some more rookies into the game.
