Long-term Wallman usage (and...um, my internet league is now open)

Hello everyone,

For those who have wanted to see whether or not Wallman's utility, or latricSB's utility, is worth it, here is my league's history (well, partially; the league pages have not been created yet, as a small bump in the road has hit with Wallman's patch).

www.thepostgamereport.com/abl/almanac/index.htm

For those who want to see the league that plays off of this history...

www.thepostgamereport.net

The files that Wallman's utility created is around 190MB for the 101 seasons. I expect it'll be around 193 or around there when the league files get created.

If you have any questions about the league, email me at ABLCommish@aol.com or look me up on AIM at UCONNROX11.

Thank you for reading this.

Peace
John

Awesome

Looks great. And you know what I found the "coolest"? You actually had someone with a last name that started with X. No one in MLB has ever had a last name that started with X. Nice!

Very impressive...and all the better when gets Wallman gets all the kinks out of the program with the new version later this week.

Yes, quite. Once I get my postseason into the utility (the first time I did it, I screwed it up...note to everyone, you do this, make copies of your postseason boxscores), this should look even better.

Peace

Nice. Fantastic idea for an online league to build up all this history as it begins. Good luck with it.

Btw, you mention once you get your postseason into it. How are you doing it? Have you modified Wallman's program to include the postseason stats? I didn't think he had that added to it yet.

Did the utility put the Hall of Fame banner on the player page or did you do that yourself?

The utility does it. However, one thing it doesn't do is place the banner on players added to the HoF. Ed Gladman got into the Hall in 1942 after an injury ended his career; however, this is not illustrated in Wallman's utility since I added him manually. It's no big deal; I can just add it. It's just something to keep in mind.

Peace

You can manually add players to the HOF and have the utility recognize it. Before you import the season's league files into Wallman's utility you can edit the league news html. Find teh guy you manually added to the HOF in the retired section and add the inducted into the HOF line under his name just like the others and when you process that season the program will add the HOF banner to that guy.
