Universe of Leather Boxing Assoc. (UoLBA)

I am pleased to announce the formation of the UoLBA (Universe of Leather Boxing Association). Below are the rules for this universe. I made for some pretty complex timelining, scheduling and matchmaking systems, but most of the work is done up front as I developed formulas within my fighter spreadsheets. I'm going to start out with HW only until I get the system down, then probably extend to other divisions later.

INTRO
All HW fighters are eligible, whether retired or active. Fighters will be collected from TCBA as well as Cornerworks and OOTP sites.

Fighters will be timelined, beginning with the year 1890. Fighters have a 50% chance of starting their careers in the year they actually began (pre-1890 fighters rounded up to 1890). Fighters have a 50% chance of starting their careers in a different year, randomized from 1890-2000.

- Fighters will be hidden from me until they actually appear at the beginning of an UoLBA year. For example, if Joe Louis has been "time machined" to 1974 using my spreadsheet randomizer, he won’t appear on the active list spreadsheet until 1974. This mystery will add to fun for me.

After the fighters have been timelined, all 1890 fighters enter the league in their primes and make up the beginning fighter pool. New fighters are added each year, and old fighters will retire using retirement rules outlined later.

Newly added fighters will have a 20 bout auto-schedule session against tomato can fighters prior to entry into UoLBA to establish a record.

SCHEDULING AND ACTIVITY
Three fight cards will be scheduled per month, with 6 fights on each card. Each month, boxers are checked for availability. The chance that they fight is based on the TB Conditioning rating as follows:

1 (Near Perfect) 70%
2 (Well Conditioned) 70%
3 (Borderline Condition) 65%
4 (Weight Problems) 60%
5 (Party Animal) 65%
6 (Aging Inconsistent Vet) 45%
7 (Inactive) 30%
8 (Fights too Frequently) 80%
9 (Headcase) 70%
10 (Malcontent) 65%
11 (Physical and Mental Problems) 40%
12 (Seldom if Ever Trains) 70%

Activity in the previous month also impacts fighter availability:
Fought last month – minus 25% from above
Fought last two months in a row – minus 50% from above
Fought last three months in a row – cannot fight (mandatory time off)

Additional Adjustments based on damage suffered in previous fight:

1 cut – month off
1 knockdown – month off
2 cuts last fight –month off, 20% off following month chance
2 knockdowns – month off, 30% off following month chance
1 knockout – 1 month off, 50% off second month chance
1 tko – 2 months off

Adjustments based on inactivity (not due to injury,KD,TKO, KO or mandatory time off):
Inactive 1 month – increase chance by 10%
Inactive 2 months – increase chance by 25%
Inactive 3 months – increase chance by 50%
Inactive 4 months – 100% chance of fighting

MATCHMAKING / DESIRABILITY

After determining availability, all fighters deemed available are given a matchmaking value based on the following formula. The resulting number is a fighter’s desireability factor. This number must be at least 1.

Draw Power, 2 points for each point.

Current Ranking, Champ is 25, Ranks 2-20 get inverse points (2 gets 19, 3 gets 18, etc.)

1 Point for every win over .500 – max 20.

10 additional points if fighter is undefeated.

Points are totaled. Each player gets a roll value based on his desirability factor divided by the total matchmaking points for all fighters in that month. So in other words, if John Dwyer is active with a desirability factor of 40, and the combined total is 400, John Dwyer would be assigned 10 of the total rolls available on a scale of 100, or 10% of the total fight possibilities.

A fight card spreadsheet is created for the given fight month. 18 sets of cells are set up with a formula to display random numbers between 1-100. These numbers correlate to the numbers that are assigned to the available fighters. So, as in the example above, John Dwyer has a number between 1 and 10, and the random number is 6, Dwyer is the fighter assigned to the fight. After the 18 bouts are preliminarily assigned, each fighter with multiple pairings chooses his preferred fight. This happens only if he is the more desirable fighter in that match. If not, he will not have this choice. As slots open from this selection process, new random numbers will be generated to fill them. This continues until all matches for that month are full. Any available fighter still not assigned to a match forfeits his right to fight in that month.

VENUES
There will be 9 venues randomly chosen each year in the UoLBA – 3 will be considered A list venues, 3 will be B and 3 C. Only 3 of these venues will be active per 4 month period – 1 A, 1 B and 1 C.

Once the fight card spreadsheet is completed, the combined desirability totals of the 18 fights are ranked. The highest ranking fight is the A list venue Main Event, the second goes to B’s Main Event, etc. This continues down the fight cards until all fights are assigned for that month.

RANKINGS and DETERMING THE CHAMPION
The UoLBA will rely on Title Bout game to assign rankings.

The month of June of 1890 will be devoted to a 16 man tourney to determine initial world champion. This tourney will be comprised of fighters ranked 1-16 in the game. By this time, each fighter will have completed a 20-fight early phase against tomato cans, and will have at least 22-24 total fights under his belt.

From this point on, any fight assigned to the champ is considered a title fight, and the challenger must come from one of the top-five ranked fighters (randomizer re-randomizes until at least one of the champion's fights is against a top-five contender). If after two fights the champ has not yet faced the number two ranked fighter, he must face him in the third fight. If one or both are not active during that month, then the champ must rest that month, and continue to rest until both fighters are active.

AGING/RETIREMENT
Fighter will follow Cubedrum’s aging system, entering as PRIME fighters with 100 fight points. Additionally, I like the idea of the shock retirement I saw listed in someone’s universe, and will initiate that in this league as well. So after 30 wins, a fighter has a roll to determine if he retires, the probability equal to 1% for each fight over 30. This roll is x1.25 if rolled after a loss, and x1.5 if rolled after loss by KO or TKO. The fighter will have a 50% of possibility of return from retirement in year two, modified down by 10% for each year he remains in retirement.

Inaugural Month - February, 1890

February 1890, brings the inaugural month of the Universe of Leather Boxing Association (UoLBA). 66 heavyweight fighters from around the globe have successfully gained membership, all eager to climb their way to the top of the UoLBA universe.

The UoLBA has announced that the month of June will be devoted to a 16 man tournament comprised of the fighters deemed by the UoLBA to be the top 16 in the world. This tourney will determine the world's first heavyweight champion.

Early "buzz" from the fight world tabbed a few of the division's elite as the early favorites for the title:

Peter Jackson
- Sporting a perfect 20-0 record, this Virgin Island heavyweight, dubbed by his fans "The Black Prince", has already gained the reputation as one of the most feared men in the division, and is many observers favorite to take the crown.

John C Heenan - Currently ranked #1 by the UoLBA, this American slugger has left a trail of destruction everywhere he's been, with 19 stoppages in his first 20 matches (all wins).

Hasim Rahman - A relative unknown, this fighter from Philly, a perfect 20-0, carries himself as though he belongs in another era. Rahman has 18 KO's to his credit.

John J Dwyer - The powerful Canadian touts a perfect 20-0 with 18 KOs.

Other notable Heavyweights entering the UoLBA with an unblemished record: Frank Slavin, Peter Maher, Jimmy Elliot, Peter Courtney, Dominic McCaffrey, Joe Coburn and Tommy Chandler.

1890 - February Fights Announced

Solidier Field has won the bid to sign the top heavyweight fights in the UoLBA for the first 8 months of 1890. The Olympia Stadion and The Cow Palace will also host UoLBA fights during this period.

The marque fight of the month, and Soldier Field's main event, features two undefeated fighters, Australian Frank Slavin vs. "The Benicia Boy", John C. Heenan. Word out of both camps indicate each fighter is in top shape, and look forward to participating in the first important heavyweight fight in UoLBA history. An exciting undercard has Irishman John Morrissey (19-0-1) facing off against crowd-pleasing pugilist Sailor Charles Brown (19-1).

The Olympia Stadion this month showcases an exciting match pitting undefeated Canadian John J Dwyer against American Fred Crossley (19-1).
On the undercard, American Leroy Jones (19-0-1) hooks up with fellow American Harry Woodson (also 19-0-1).

And The Cow Palace in San Francisco presents its own February fight card, featuring an intriguing match between Philly slugger Hasim Rahman and Irishman Peter Maher, both undefeated in 20 bouts to date. Popular contender Jake Kilrain (18-1-1) is featured on the undercard against undefeated South Carolinian Morris Grant (20-0).

Good start Matt, I like the ruleset. What do you do if you have less than 18 fights in a month (or more than for that matter)?

Looks good, Matt. I'm impressed by the effort you've obviously put in devising your rules.

I hope your stay here will be a long one.

P.S. Nice to see another Heavyweight universe!

2/07/1890 - February Fight Results - Soldier Field

CHICAGO - Soldier Field's highly-anticipated Main Event between #1 ranked slugger John C. Heenan and Australian HW contender Frank Slavin did not live up to its billing. Seemingly an even match on paper, Frank Slavin didn't prove up to the task, tasting the canvas four times in the match, and dropping an unanimous decision to the impressive Heenan.

In the undercard, Sailor Charlie Smith proved no match for Irishman John Morrissey, who floored Smith 3 times, the third depositing Smith on the canvas for the ten-count with :52 left in the third round.

Other matches:
Tommy Chandler (20-0) vs. Toxie Hall (19-0-1) - 10 round Draw
James Dalton (19-1) def. Henry Higgins (17-2-1) - 8 round UD
Duncan McDonald (20-0) def. Tom Allen (20-0) - 6 round UD
Alonzo Johnson (20-0) def. Charlie O'Donnell (19-0-1) - 6 round UD

Thanks to everyone for the kind welcome and the feedback.

To answer Mark's question, when I have over 18 fighters available in the month, the ones left after all slots are filled are basically rejected for the month, and join the ranks of inactive fighters for that month. If I have less than 18 (which has not yet happened), I will likely fill the rest of the cards with tomato can fights of 3 rounds. Either that, or I'll re-roll for actives until I get 18. Haven't decided yet which way to handle that event.

2/13/1890 - February Fight Results - Olympia Stadion

BERLIN - A rowdy fight crowd came out to see HW contenders Fred Crossley and John Dwyer square off in a 12 round contest.

Experts expecting a strong performance from the surging Dwyer were not disappointed, as the Canadian pounded out a 12-round unanimous decision over the decidedly inferior Crossley. Dwyer put Crossley on the canvas four times in the contest.

The fight between Americans Leroy Jones and Harry Woodson on the undercard started out as an even affair, but an early cut on the left eyelid of Woodson in the second proved fatal to the hopes of The Black Diamond. Jones wins by TKO in round three of this contest.

Other fight results:
Billy Keough (20-0-0) def. Denver Ed Smith (20-0-0) - 7 round KO
Joe Goddard (20-0-0) def. Pete McCoy (18-1-1) - 8 round UD
Chet Shandel (20-0-0) vs. Morris Heffey (18-1-1) - 8 round Draw
JH Brown (15-2-3) def. Roy Clark (20-0-0) - 6 round SD

2/21/1890 - February Fight Results - The Cow Palace

SAN FRANCISCO - Lucky fight fans were treated to the fight of the month, as Irishman Peter Maher squared off against American slugger Hasim Rahman in a 12 round contest, and a tremendous undercard contest between Jake Kilrain and Morris Grant.

Both Rahman and Maher enter the contest with a perfect 20-0-0 record. Rahman led the fight early, handily winning 3 of the first 4 rounds on all 3 Judges fight cards. In the 5th, Maher tasted canvas for the first time in his career, felled by an uppercut in the opening 10 seconds of the round. After surviving the 5th, Maher regained his legs to outbox Rahman in the 6th and 7th.

Then midway through the 8th, a wild right by Maher landed flush to the jaw of Rahman, who dropped as if he'd been poleaxed. Rahman remains prone for a seven-count before shakily getting to his feet. Maher was not done in the round, raining blows on his woozy opponent. With less than a minute left in the round, Maher shot a hook to the rib-cage of Rahman, who dropped for another seven count. But somehow Rahman survived the round.

Maher chased Rahman in the 9th, hitting but failing to drop Rahman. This would prove to be the Irishman's last best chance. In the 10th, Rahman's first punch sent Maher to the canvas for an 8 count. Rahman continued to dominate in the 10th and 11th, dropping Maher again in the 11th on a right cross.

The twelfth found both fighters going toe to toe, each bringing out his entire arsenal in this closely fought affair. At the end of it, both fighters were left standing to the cheers of an appreciative crowd.

In the end, the judges declared a unanimous win for Hasim Rahman, who maintained his perfect record. But all cards reflected the close nature of the fight: 114-109, 112-111, 114-109.

On the undercard, fans were treated to yet another exciting contest between popular American Jake Kilrain (18-1-1) and opponent Morris Grant (20-0-0). Grant had Kilrain's number early, flooring the powerful lefty with a hard shot to the head in the third round. This would prove to be the only knockdown in the match.

The fight remained in doubt right up to the end, with Kilrain's strong 10th and final round winning him a narrow split decision victory over the surprisingly tough Grant, 95-94, 94-95, 95-94.

Other results:
Bob McIntyre (19-0-1) def. Tom Lees (20-0-0) - 8 round SD
Peter Jackson (20-0-0) def. Al Greenfield (17-2-1) - 8 round UD
McHenry Johnson (17-1-2) def. Jack McAuley (19-0-1) - 6 round UD
Dominic McCaffrey (20-0-0) def. Jack Stewart (8-8-4) - 6 round UD

1890 - March Fights Announced

UoLBA has announced March match-ups. Only 28 fighters are available this month, so Olympia Stadion and Cow Palace venues will each go to a four bout fight card.

The Main event on the Soldier Field card pits two undefeateds: Britisher Joe Goss and American Joe Coburn in a 12 round matchup. Top ranked slugger John Heenan is surprisingly on the undercard to face Canadian Mike Kine in what could only be considered a big mismatch.

Jake Kilrain's fight against Joe Choynski (18-1-1) will headline the Olympia Stadion fight card. A strong undercard will feature Dominic McCaffrey (21-0) against undefeated Australian Joe Goddard (21-0).

The Cow Palace will host top contender, undefeated Bill Bradburn’s first UoLBA match against British fighter Jem Stewert (14-0-6). The undercard features two 20-0 American pugilists, Jack Welsh and Peter Courtney.

1890 - March Fight Results

CHICAGO - Soldier Field hosted a real snooze-fest this month, as American Joe Coburn and Englishman Joe Goss danced for 15 rounds to the tune of a chorus of boos en route to a 15 round draw. For Goss, of whom great things were expected at the outset of 1890, this outing was a particular disappointment. On the undercard, The Benicia Boy, John Heenan, depositing the significantly inferior Mike Kine four times to the canvas en route to a second round KO. In other results, Billy Australian Smith fought to a majority draw with fellow Aussie Bill Doherty, and Duncan McDonald keeps his record perfect with a 6 round unanimous decision over CC Smith.

BERLIN - At the Olympia Stadion, a closely watched matchup between fellow Americans Joe Choyinski and Jake Kilrain ended in a 12 round unanimous decision for Choyinski, who floored Kilrain 4 times in the contest. On the undercard, Dominic McCaffrey goes to 22-0 with a unanimous decision over Joe Goddard, dropping Goddard from the undefeated ranks; Peter Courtney pounds out an 8 round decision over American Jack Welsh; and Charles Lange gets a Majority decision over previously unbeaten Mervine Thompson.

SAN FRANCISCO - The buzz after tonight's fights at the Cow Palace was not about Bill Bradburn's complete dismantling of Jem Stewart in his 12 round unanimous decision in the Main Event. It was about a very controversial finish to the undercard matchup between two of Ireland's native sons, Jimmy Elliot and Dan Donnelly.

The match looked to be more of a mismatch on paper. Donnelly features a wallop for a punch, but has yet to learn the art of self defense, providing ready target for the skilled pugilist. Jimmy Elliot, on the other hand, is viewed by many experts as a complete fighter and one of the best of the current crop of hopefuls vying for supremacy in the division. Most predicated an entertaining but one-sided affair for Elliot, and by anyone's standards, the fight unfolded according to this script. While Donnelly got occasional shots in, Elliot showed supremacy throughout the fight, sending Donnelly to the floor 4 times in the first 8 rounds of the 10 round contest. Yet while Elliot cruised from round to round, building points on the Judges' scorecards, he was also building ill-will with referee Harry Krause, who warned Elliot repeatedly for low blows, leaning on the neck of Donnelly, and general orneriness. Elliot even lost a point in the 3rd for his shenanigans. Finally, with 3 seconds left in the 9th round, with Elliot again leaning on the neck of Donnelly, the referee had seen enough, disqualifying Elliot on the spot and handing the victory to the punch-drunk but jubilant Donnelly.

This loss shocked the boxing world, and is a huge blow to Elliot's hopes of gaining berth in June's 16 slot tournament to determine the UoLBA's first HW champion.

In other fights at the Cow Palace, American title contender Jack Boylan kept his perfect record intact with an 8 round unanimous decision over Jack Stewart, and American Charlie McDonald clinched a 6 round UD over Canadian Joe Lannon.

1890 - April Fights Announced

UoLBA has announced April match-ups. Thirty fighters are available this month, leaving 5 matches per venue

A fight between #6 ranked Tommy Chandler and 3rd ranked John Morrissey is showcased in the Main Event at Soldier Field. Chandler, who disappointed his fans with a 10 round draw to Toxie Hall in February, brings a 20-0-1 record to the fight, matching Morrissey’s own 20-0-1 record. This is also Morrissey’s second fight of the year, having dispatched Sailor Charles Brown with a 3rd round KO in their 12 round match. On the undercard, John Dwyer, currently ranked #4 in the UoLBA, squares off against undefeated American John Donaldson. James Dalton (20-1) faces Charles Lange (19-2), Toxie Hall (19-0-2) will meet Roy Clark (20-0-1) and Henry Higgins (17-2-2) will fight Al Greenfield (17-3-1).

The Olympia Stadion in Berlin welcomes #2 ranked contender Bill Bradburn (21-0-0) and Harry Woodson (19-1-1) as they square off at the top of April’s fight card. On the undercard, Frank Slavin, who was thumped in his February contest with John Heenan, brings a 19-2 record against McHenry Johnson (18-1-2); Australian Bill Doherty clashes with undefeated American Alonzo Johnson; Tom Allen (20-1) faces Tom Lees (20-1); and Charles Lang (12-4-5) will fight C.C. Smith (19-1).

San Francisco’s Cow Palace has signed the enigmatic Joe Goss (currently ranked #7) for its headliner, as he faces American Duncan McDonald (21-0) in the Main Event. Both fighters are undefeated, although Goss’ record is tarnished by a draw from last month’s lackluster effort against Joe Coburn. Other matches on the card include Jack McAuley (19-1-1) against Pete McCoy (18-2-1); Bill Donnelly (19-2 after his controversial win last month against Jimmy Elliot) against Bob McIntyre (20-0-1); Steve Taylor (18-1-1) in his first match of the year against Irishman Charlie O’Donnell (19-1-1); and Jim Harvey risks his flawless 20-0 record against Charles Buskin (4-15-1).

Current top 10 contenders in UoLBA:

1. John Heenan
2. Bill Bradburn
3. John Morrissey
4. John Dwyer
5. Hasim Rahman
6. Tommy Chandler

8. Peter Jackson
9. Duncan McDonald
10. James Dalton

1890 - April Fight Results - Soldier Field

Soldier Field fight fans witnessed a tremendous bout tonight between top contenders Tommy Chandler and John Morrissey. Round 1 started off at a blistering pace, with Morrissey having Chandler in trouble almost from the beginning. Morrissey gave every indication that tonight was his night., pinning Chandler to the ropes early and firing away. Chandler, however, was not to be vanquished easily. He escaped the first round shaken but not stirred, and brought the fight even with a solid second round effort. From this point, the tide turned solidly to Chandler, who chased Morrissey in rounds 3-5, dropping bombs that would easily fell a lesser man. Morrissey kept his feet, however wobbly, but trailed badly on all scorecards at the end of round 5.

In round 6, Morrissey caught his second wind and began displaying the mettle of a champion, staggering Chandler with a flurry of punches. The onslaught continued in the 7th, leading to the first knockdown of the fight when Chandler found himself on the receiving end of a wicked right cross that dropped him to the mat. Chandler regained his footing at a 2-count and went on to weather the round.

Chandler was the much more active fighter over the next four rounds, beating a curiously sluggish Morrissey to the punch time and again. While he failed to pack enough steam to topple his opponent, Chandler worked Morrissey’s eye to a purple mass by the end of round 11. At the beginning of round 12, Chandler looked to be clearly leading the fight, and Morrissey looked like he’d gotten far the worst of things.

Round 12 begins with Morrissey clearly showing an urgency that he lacked in the previous rounds, and Chandler displaying a defensive posture. Chandler works an overhand right to Morrissey’s damaged eye, which seems to wake Morrissey up more than it hurts him. Morrissey bulls Chandler into a corner and unloads a tremendous left that buckles Chandler’s knees. He then takes full advantage of Chandler’s condition and buries him in a flurry of punches. The barrage is too much for Chandler, who drops to the canvas. But Chandler’s heart has not abandoned him, and the American pulls himself up at the count of one, awaits the standing eight count, and continues. Morrissey looks to end the fight against a stunned opponent, and chases Chandler around the ring, winging shots from every angle. But Chandler manages to keep his feet to the final bell, ending the contest.

Many in the crowd thought Chandler had done enough to win the fight, while others felt that Morrissey’s two knockdowns clearly showed him to be the better man. The judges saw it as an incredibly close affair, the first judge scoring it 113-113, the second 114-114 and the 3rd, 114 to 112 for Chandler. Had Chandler kept his feet in round 12, he would have won the fight outright. As it turned out, Morrissey’s efforts in the 12th round kept him undefeated and branded the contest a majority draw.

On the undercard, John Dwyer decisioned John Donaldson to maintain his undefeated record and further cement his claim to a berth in the upcoming tourney.; James Dalton came back from a surprise knockdown in the 6th to escape with a draw against Charles Lange; Toxie Hall lost a majority decision to Roy Clark; and Al Greenfield collected a unanimous decision over Henry Higgins.

Thanks Romdawg. I'm pretty interested as well in how this shakes out. It looks like Jimmy Elliot will land outside the 16 because of last month's DQ - it will be a surprising oversight. We'll see how the rest of this month goes - several fights will impact the ultimate cut list.

1890 - April Fight Results - Olympia Stadion and The Cow Palace

BERLIN – Tonight’s Main Event featured a spirited contest between top-ten contender Bill Bradburn and The Black Diamond, Harry Woodson. Bradburn came out early, scoring often in the first two frames to take the lead. In the third, a hard left by Bradburn opened a nasty gash under the right eyebrow of Woodson. From the moment The Black Diamond saw his own blood, Woodson became a different fighter, turning desperation into aggression and winning the 3rd, 4th and 5th frames in the minds of ringside experts. Yet, despite his efforts, Woodson fought on borrowed time, as the cut continued to weep blood. In the 6th, blood began to blind Woodson, limiting his effectiveness and making him vulnerable to Bradburn’s powerful left hook. Bradburn took advantage, punishing the wound at every turn. Finally, with under 2 minutes left in the round, Bradburn propelled The Black Diamond to the canvas with a wicked combination. Woodson was able to regain his feet, but the wound was beyond repair. The ring doctor was called over for the third time in as many rounds, this time stopping the fight. Bradburn wins by TKO in the 6th.

On the undercard, Frank Slavin secured a majority decision from McHenry Johnson; Bill Doherty floored Alonzo Johnson 3 times en route to a unanimous decision in 8 frames; Tom Allen rose from the canvas in the first to KO Tom Lees in 4; and C.C. Smith punished Charles Lang, sending him to the canvas twice in 2 rounds, the second time for a 10-count.

SAN FRANCISCO – Tonight will be known as the “night of a thousand cuts”, as blood poured freely from several of the combatants on The Cow Palace fight card.

In the Main Event, two undefeateds squared off for the chance to climb the HW ranks. Joe Goss, the favorite of most ringsiders, began the fight in fine form, handily dominating Duncan McDonald in the first two frames. In the third, however, Goss fell into some bad luck, as a right hook by McDonald opened a ragged wound on the right eyelid of Goss. The Britisher fought valiantly, winning every round from the 4th on. But in the 7th round, the referee called the ring doctor over for the 4th time to evaluate Goss’ copiously bleeding cut, and the doctor called the fight, over bitter protests from Goss’ corner. Duncan McDonald wins by TKO in the 7th.

On the undercard, Jack McAuley took on Pete McCoy in what turned out to be a virtual blood-bath. McCoy tore McAuley’s eyebrow with a wicked shot in the first, and had McAuley staggered the entire round but could not put him down. McAuley returned the favor in the third, opening a wound under McCoy’s right eyebrow. From this point on, both fighters were on borrowed time, as the fight became a virtual bleed out between the two contestants. The ring doctor was the busiest participant from this point on, check each fighter at least once from the 4th round on. By the 6th, McAuley had a decent lead over his opponent, and after a particular nasty flurry from McAuley quickened the bloodflow once again from the eye of McCoy, the doctor had seen enough, telling a dazed McCoy that he was finished for the evening. TKO win for McAuley in 6. Dan Donnelly continued his rise in the ranks, earning a TKO in the 6th after dominating a game but overmatched Bob McIntyre; Charlie O’Donnell won a 6 round UD over Steve Taylor; and Jim Harvey preserved his perfect record, logging a 6 round UD over Canadian Charles Buskin.

The UoLBA has declared May an open month, as fighters prepare in hopes of a berth in June’s 16 man tourney. The tournament brackets will be announced the first week in May.
