Interesting problem

Like many of you, I like to listen to WinAmp while playing OOTP4, but whenever I finish simming a period of time, WinAmp freezes when the game is saving. It starts going again after a couple seconds, but this is very annoying to me, especially when it DIDN'T happen on my parents 400 celeron over spring break. (I'm on a 1.4 ghz Pentium 4 now)

Any ideas on how I can fix this?

Is this problem occuring pre or post patch c? I would totally understand the lockup problem prior to patch c with the 100% CPU usage problem. After patch c, I would find it curious, although depending on hard drive size and other issues, it might still bog down slightly when saving or performing other intensive tasks.

I've found it beneficial to put my OOTP files on my second hard drive which only contains photos. This way, my computer doesn't have read-write issues with MusicMatch (or Winamp in your case) while playing.

It's actually happening both pre and post patch C. I don't have 2 HDs, so I can't move the files, though it might be interesting to play the music off of a CD.

What version of Winamp?

There are various issues with all the versions since AOL took it over (there's a surprise) - which one are you running? I have all of 'em on my HD and can to duplicate the problem

Version 2.76 of WinAmp, I'm going to try and upgrade it, didn't realize it was that out of date

EDIT; Didn't work with version 2.79, I'm going to try Beta 3 next

2nd Edit; I had the same problem with Media Player, so I'm guessing it's a sound card type problem, I'll probably try to update drivers after I get home this afternoon
