What will the game do if there is a three-way tie for first place in an 8-team league? I'm one game away from having this happen in my solo league, and I'm just wondering - what if all three games go just right to have this happen? Will there be two one-game playoffs? And if so, how does the game decide who gets the "1" seed and doesn't have to play in the first game?
I'm also interested in knowing how this would have been handled historically, if it's different from what the game would decide, and anyone happens to know.... |

The game will take the top two teams (ranked by team number I believe) and the third will be SOL.
You can resolve this problem by manually scheduling the three - team playoff in the schedule editor in game. Edit - In real life the MLB would have two coin tosses. The winner of the first toss gets to decide whether they want home field advantage, or to receive a first round bye. The winner of the second toss gets the option not selected by the first winner. The structure would be like this: (In this example the Winner of Toss one selected to take a bye)
code:

Loser of Both Tosses - |____________ (Home Team) | | @ Winner of Toss Two - | | | Winner of Toss One - (Visitor)

The winner gets the playoff spot.. Hope this helps. [ 06-07-2002, 12:12 PM: Message edited by: ScottVib ] |

Thanks - I'm glad you replied because all three teams lost their last game, so it is indeed a three-way tie. I will manually reschedule, using the MLB formula.
