very impatient owner

Imported Lahman's 2005 season. Coached first season with Cubs. Went 87-75 and won the Central. I did this even with season ending injuries to 2 of my starting position players and major long-term injuries to my closer and 1 starting pitcher (had a deep bench). Next season I had the "injury plague" once again (so prominently noted on this forum), but couldn't work through it early on. Was 3 games below .500 at the beginning of June and was FIRED! To me that just makes no sense.

What are you supposed to do after you get fired? I waited for a team to pick me up but it didn't happen the rest of the 2006 season and am still waiting in Spring Training 2007. Where is the FUN in that? Many other irritating issues too numerous to mention.

The key to any successful strategy-based sports game is immersiveness. A good game sucks you in so deeply that you almost forget it's a game. Everything fits perfectly and it's sim-nirvana. Anytime these illogical anomalies rear there head it wakes you up and reminds you you're just playing a game that some programmer wrote.

Anyway I downloaded Puresim 2007 and loved the demo. Bought the game and haven't played OOTP since (10 days ago). I'm not saying OOTP is terrible or "unplayable" or anything terribly negative. It's just, for me, Pursesim is much better. I recommend anyone having major issues with OOTP to try Puresim. Take it from someone who has played stats based sports games for decades, Puresim is immersive and quite accurate statistically.

When you are fired you almost need to sim daily to see what offers come up. I've gotten minor league offers in mid-season. Typically, the major league offers don't come until the day after the playoffs end and in the following days.

You Cubs had major injury problems? Like Prior and Woods?

What was the owner expectation for you in the 2006 season> Were you +/- in the win column on the Pythagorean Record?

BTW, I have noted that the AI GM's are a bit, tempramental to a manager when they are the slightest bit down.

Here's some help in the meantime.

Very creative Puresim advertisement.

By the way, I've read your other posts, and I'm just joking around - you don't have any history of pimping Puresim. It's just how I read your initial post the first time; you lead into Puresim so well.

was about to ask what his percentage was on the commission for every puresim game sold, but I'll take your word Dagrims and believe this was an isolated commercial

I'm not so forgiving. If it had truly been ten days since he had played, what on Earth could possibly be th reason to come on this board touting how much fun he was having playing some other game.

Sounds fishy to me.
