OOTP65.exe - Application Error

This is the box that pops up when I try to launch OOTP 6.5 as of yesterday.

The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the application.

It was working fine before then. I installed some video editing software, and then blam, OOTP doesn't work anymore. I've un-installed the new software AND OOTP and then done a fresh install of 6.5 and I still get the same problem.

Only thing I can think of is that something in the registry got trashed or that a shared DLL got corrupted somehow. I'm not having this problem with any other programs though.

Anyone been through this or have any ideas?

Fixed.

I forgot that the video editing software had me change the settings in My Computer->Properties->Advanced->Performance(Settings)->Data Execution Prevention. This property had initially been set to the top checkbox (Turn on DEP for essential Windows Programs and services only) and the video software wanted the second checkbox (Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select.)

Once I switched it back to the first checkbox, the problem was solved
