You have to put the team logos into the logo directory in your window explorer. The game assigns each team a team number (Team 5, Team 16...) you then have to go and edit the logos manually and edit them to the correct team, so if the game has Team 5 you have to edit the logo name to Team 5. Next time you open the game your logos should be there

Step by step...
You've downloaded the logos. I'll assume they are in a zip file. 1. Create a scratch directory (anywhere, any name) 2. Unzip the logos into the scratch directory 3. If the logo files are in JPG format (i.e. Astros.jpg) you'll need to convert them to BMP format... not rename; convert. Load the jpg file into MS Paint or some other graphics program and save the file as a bmp. 4. Each team in your OOTP league is identified by a number, starting at 1, alphabetically starting with the left hand league first (as displayed on the standings screen). So for instance if you created an historical league in 1930, the Boston Red Sox are team 1, Chicago White Sox = 2, etc etc, Boston Braves = 9, Brooklyn Dodgers = 10, Chicago Cubs = 11 etc etc 5. Start OOTP. Go to the team setup screen for the first team listed in the drop down menu. On the right side above the picture of the ballpark you'll see a spot where the team logo should be. Right below that is a text line telling you what file OOTP will use as the logo. It looks something like "c:\OOTP\myleague.lg\logos\logo1.bmp"... that's the exact location and name of the file OOTP will use as the logo. You can't change that text, you can only supply the logo file. That "logo##.bmp" (where ## is some number) bit tells you what ID number the team has. Note the ID number. 6. Go to the BMP format logo files you saved from Step 3. Find the logo that matches what you want for the team with the ID number 1. 7. Rename that BMP file to logo1.bmp 8. Copy (or move) that logo1.bmp file to the logos directory of your league... (e.g. C:\OOTP\myleague.lg\logos) 9. To test to see if you've done it right: reselect that team for the team setup screen in OOTP and you should see the logo 10. Repeat Steps 5 through 8 for the rest of the teams. |

All of the graphics (logos, player pictures, ballparks) must be in BMP format. If you want a batch converter, try irfanview. Its pretty easy to use, its free and you can find it here http://www.irfanview.com/ |

well I'm even more illiterate. How do you convert files from .gif to .bmp? Can you use Microsoft Paint for that? I tried to go to that link for a converter, but it doesn't work.
Also do the logos have to be a universal size? If not, what is the preferable size? Thanks. |

150x150 pixels is the ideal logo size for OOTP. Too small or too large will result in distortions. |

Your best bet would be to post your logos in the logo forum. I or somebody else would be happy to resize them and convert them for you. I'm at work right now, but I could do later this evening. I wouldn't be surprised if someone did them for you even before I got home! Here is the forum: http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...splay.php?f=72 |

Thanks alot Reds1 for your offer and your previous help. However, in a discussion in another thread I discovered that the whole logo thing is going to work completely differently in the new version. Since, I just downloaded the free 5 version to get a flavor of what's to come, I figure I'll just wait on the logos and stuff until the new version comes out. Sorry to have troubled you. Thanks again for your assistance. |
