Brewster v Liakhovich

Liakhovich is pretty good, but this ref is looking to take it from him. I have him up after 3 2-0-1

Jeez, at the rate things are going, we'll have four completely different heavyweight champions by the end of the year. First Ruiz, now Brewster. The chances of Klitschko taking out whatshisname are pretty good also.

And a good shot that 3 of the 4 will be white. It can't be said that it is race but environment that makes the fighter. These former eastern block fighters are good......well the best we have now anyway.

Sure was. I was up on my feet several times. I'm not so sure that King will put Liakhovich back in the ring with Brewster so soon. There maybe more money in a Laikhovich fight with Wlad though a Wlad and Valuve fight would draw big in Germany.

Cool. Looks like the European invasion of the Heavyweight division is in full force.

Brewster will return in top shape and get his belt back. He was really out of shape coming into this one. He ran out of gas in five rounds.

Heavyweights with his style are past their prime at 29 or 30. At 32, you would have to assume that his best days are behind him. Look at Joe Frazier, Rocky Marciano, and Mike Tyson as examples. I doubt if he is back at top form ever and I also doubt that King allows for the rematch.....no money in it.

If Don King wanted a rematch he would have stated that about 5,000 times during the post fight interviews.

It was one of the better HW fights I've seen in a while. I cautioned with scoring on the American Champ fighting in the midwest. But I still had it 115-112 for Liakhovich.

It was a surprisingly fun fight to watch. The WBO title is a piece of junk, but it has been a while since a heavyweight fight has had me throwing hooks on the couch.

My take on the fight -

It was a decent fight between two average type HW's (who in the current division of HW's will be competitive with most).

But neither man is really all that great -

Brewster of course has the more natural ability / platform to which he should have been more successful then he is / was -

Though his style has always been a little to lacking - In that he has power....but he has never really been that good at cutting of the ring or putting on a systematic performance round after round.

Laikhovich is just an average HW.......but seems like a real nice guy. As is Brewster. Both good guys who put on a good performance.

Probably two of the toughest guys in the division today. Liahkovich has one of the best chins I have ever seen, he took some bombs from a good puncher and kept coming in.

Liakhovich is not a great fighter, but he is better than some of the crap that has been around lately. I could see him beating Valuev. But I thought it was the best heavyweight fight I have seen in a long time.

Ok here is the deal, it is an immediate rematch clause in the contract serguei was not a mandatory.

Show time want the rematch for august but it looks like serguei did some real damage to brewster ribs and kedney, so there lookin at a november rematch wit serguei possibly fighting mc bride on ppv in aug, but again this is jus wat showtime wants not wat brewster or king signed off for YET.

But it looks like serguei really did some hurtin to brewster left side, and he could be sideline for 3 months..but and rematch clause was in the contract.

Boy do Serguei gets me excited most time I hate these european guys but he looks to have somethin they dont seem to have, HEART, and CHIN...Plus his hand speed is as fast or even faster then byrd.

Tea please dont compare Brewster to tyson or rocky or joe for that matter, in this day and age a prime hw is around 33-34.
