Question Just purchased OOTP4, won't start on Win2k laptop

I'm just purchased/installed OOTP 4 on my IBM A20m Thinkpad running Win2k (actually purchased from another desktop -- then installed on my laptop). When I go to start OOTP, nothing happens. I keep the task manager up and I don't even see OOTP4 even begin to start... Looking for clues..

Make sure that you have atleast Direct X 7 or higher installed on your machine as well as your video drivers updated. The game is also designed to run 1024x768 screen rez(some monitors will run it in 800x600).

I've installed the latest DirectX (8.1) and installed the latest drivers for my video card. My display on my laptop is running @ 1024 x 768.. Still no luck. When I click the icon (or start the app from the cmd prompt), absolutely nothing happens. I would think that I'd see the file show up in the process list in task manager if only for a brief sec, but I don't... help..

Are you certain that the logo you are licking on is pointed to a valid fire name and path?

I'm sure you have, but have you tried reinstalling the game?

The system doesn't connect to any domain.. I'm just logged in locally as administrator (how I always login).
