I guess it helps to get my numbers right for hit when trying a historical league. If I reset the league, would it hurt my records and erase everything that i have done to this point?

You're pitcher might have gone 18 innings... but his opposite number went 19!

And a reliever went 11! You know he didn't expect that when he was warming up in the bullpen.

Why did the pitcher's go so long?
Was it because of the time period (1915) ?

Yes. The endurance and AI for the Deadball Era leaves the pitchers in there as long as possible.

As you can see the game was a 2-0 31 inning affair, as a result they pitched (effectively) a long time.

Incidentally today is the anniversary of the only time a pitcher lost two complete games in a DH during the 20th century. Wiley Piatt pulled it off in 1903. (Source: Baseball Library )

Heres a little more info about this interesting marathon game.
http://users.aol.com/charliezeb/states/pawsox.htm

There is also an exhibit about this game in Cooperstown -- or, there was last time I was there, two years ago. A couple of guys had *really* bad games, much like Lapp of Cincinnati in the game that started this thread.

Williams, CF for Rochester: 0-13, though the box score does have him down for two sacrifices.

And:

Laribee, DH for Pawtucket: 0-11, though he did get an RBI off of a sac fly.

So, two guys, one game, 0-24. Yeee-uck.

OK, this is really obscure, but later on in the 1981 season I was at old Memorial Stadium in Baltimore when the very same Dallas "0-13 in one game" Williams made his major league debut in a game against the Yankees.

He went on to a stellar career with the Orioles and Red during which he accumulated the grand total of 3 hits in 38 at bats.
