OSU on probation

Suprised nobody jumped on this one yet. NCAA puts OSU on 3 year probation just hours before their first game in the Big Ten Tourny. Even though it doesn't mean much to the team just OSU has to pay back about 800,000 dollars and take down the 1999 Final Four banner. Even though gotta say excellent timing on the hands of the NCAA for announcing it 2 hour before OSU plays Penn State.

I hadn't heard...they are OK for the NCAA tournament though?

coulda been much worse - Matta told his Thad-Five recruiting class that he'd release them from their Letters of Intent if the NCAA banned us from post season play.

And he may have flown to Indiana. This is about what I expected, though. None of the offenses seemed post-season ban-worthy. Does the probation short them any scholorships?

They won't be affected for this year's tourney at least.

Even though I'm a Badgers fan, I still like to have as many Big10 teams in the final four.

Pretty much what had been expected, the taking down of the final 4 banner sucks but it's not like it's just going to be erased from the fans memories, everyone knows it happened.
