Need a new OOTP Community?

Are you looking for a new OOTP experience like never before? Do you need a league that has a commish you can count on?

Then I have the league for you. The league for you then is "The Community"

1. What is the Community? Community is a league that will start with 450 of past and present greats. These greats were created in the Arod23 NOrmDB-v30.

2. How many teams are in this Community? League will feature 10 teams with 5 in the AL and 5 in the NL.

3. How are these teams going to be formed? Glad you asked that question. The teams will be created based on an initial fantasy draft that will feature 45 rounds. Draft order once all 10 teams have been filled. Draft will feature the serpentine order. Pick last in one round and you are picking first the next. Draft will take place on the boards and should go quickly with only 10 owners. I would like to start simming around the 1st week of March.

4. What about the amateur draft? Yes my thoughts exactly. Well the draft will be 5 rounds and will be conducted in the pre season. Players will be imported from the Lahman database. Who gets a chance to come into the league is TBD. Ideas are welcome on that aspect

5. What are some of the basic rules? Main thing anybody wants out of a league is to have fun and fill a competitive team. That is my goal with this league. You can find the some of the league rules on the forum by my inital posts.

6. What are some of the financial aspects of the league? There is a team cash max of $25mil per team. Every team will have a local TV Deal of 15mil that will expire in 1903 and a national TV deal that will expire in 1902. Each team will begin with 5mil in cash. Your team market will be good as well as your fan loyalty. You will start with a fan interest of 70.

Now that you have some basic knowledge of the league I will hope you will sign up. Right now I have 4 GMs interested (that includes me). So that means just 6 slots remain open.

So if you are interested just reply to this thread and let me know you would like to join. Once all GM slots are filled then you can choose your team. Though I have already claimed Cincinnati, since I am the commish

Oh yea you are probably wanting some links to see this league. Bet you were thinking I was going to run this on paper

Just an FYI, you need an even number of teams in each league.

There is 5 in each league. Doesn't to an even number in each league, just an overall even number. Sounds like a math lesson

Actually, He's partially right. You must have an even number of team in each league when you start your league. You can delete two teams after you setup your league, but it doesn't make a whole lot of sence to have 5 teams in each league.

Yeah, can't have an odd number because one team is forced to have an entire series off each set of 3 games. That'd be especially visible with 5 team leagues.

Just wanted to say we are using a custom schedule that was already built for this type of setup, so that is why it will work out. Sorry about my rude comment earlier.

I tried to start a NCAA league, but it didn't make it for various reasons

The GMBA league was not my league to start with. I wasn't the original co-commish, so I didn't start that downward spinout. I tried to save it.

I'll take a team (Chicago NL if still available). I have played OOTP for years on my PC, but this would be my 1st online league, so I would have to learn about the import/export stuff & how you do trades etc. (all should be easy!!) Thought you should know up front, just in case you only wanted veterans.
