Is Pittsburgh getting enough respect

The Pitt Panthers are undeafeated but only ranked ninth in each poll. They got wins over Wisconsin, at Louisville, South Carolina, Notre Dame, Depaul and cupcakes

Go 16-0 beating teams like Morgan State and then you can say you are getting no respect.

signed,

Didn't you go on a date with a girl that is moving to Pittsburgh to marry her man? Is that the reason you don't want to live there?

I'm a diehard Pitt fanboy, but given the cupcakeness of their schedule, they're getting about the respect they deserve. We'll see how they handle WVU and UConn before complaining about respect. It's not as if they've manhandled the good teams they've beaten.

A cupcake schedule really doesn't hurt a team as much as it should. Look at number 2 Florida.

11/09 St Peter's W 80-51
11/10 Albany W 83-64
11/17 at W Forest W 77-72
11/18 Syracuse W 75-70
11/25 Florida St W 74-66
11/28 Alabama St W 87-60
12/03 C Florida W 80-47
12/06 at Providence W 87-77
12/09 Beth-Cook W 88-58
12/18 Jacksonville W 101-58
12/22 at Miami W 77-67
12/30 Florida A&M W 84-47
01/03 Morgan St W 92-49
01/07 at Georgia W 90-72
01/11 Miss St W 75-60
01/14 Auburn W 69-57

Not exactly world beaters there.

College hoops polls are more about the name of the team than the players on it this early in the season. I wouldn't stress it. Conference play will sort things out.

Pittsburgh is a lot nicer than it used to be, and shouldn't be on your list. Gary should be your champion there. By a mile.

Michigan St. is sitting at #31. They are brought down by a defensive effeciency that is ranked a very mediocre #107 in the nation.

If you don't know how good UNI is, you don't have much credibility with me.

Respect means nothing. Nobody feels they get enough. Whether they're #9 now or not doesn't matter. If they are a top team, they will prove it come March.
