Bad news our favorite game

I just saw the CD version of TB2 on a torrent site. I just can't believe that there is an extremely well designed copy protection on the web version, and nothing at all on the CD version. I DL'd and VIOLA! No licensing procedure at all. The tracker is called Demonoid.com if the company wants to complain. It's been downloaded a couple hundred times in 3 days.

There's not a lot you can do about these sort of things.
Sony, Microsoft and many other "giants" have had their product's copy protection broken.

With Title Bout, maybe they can set up a "license check" in order to download updates and patches. That will weed out a group of people. Of course, the updates and patches can also be cracked.

IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNOW IT!

EVERY title is pirated, get over it. And it's not "bad news", no more so than "it's raining today", as it happened to the first one, which was only ever released with this "extremely well designed copy protection". Every time TB was patched, a new pirated version was released. I know, I downloaded them for backup purposes in case Elicense, for whatever reason, ever goes under. They go under and you need a new license, you're SOL.

It's just a matter of scale with the piracy. Go check Emule. You'll find the FIRST Title Bout on there, with Elicense busted wide open. You'll find Out of the Park Baseball as well. I would never have bought 3, 4 and 6 (and pre-ordered the next version) of OOTP had I NOT gotten a pirated copy of OOTP3 in the first place.

Just the other week I saw the latest Puresim on a torrent site.

Bonedwarf is right, unfortunately. Pirated software is just part of the game, just like pirated movies and CDs are part of the movie and music game. Can do what you can to help make it harder, but it's just not going to stop.

Look on the brightside, someone deemed it good enough to go through the trouple of cracking it....

Yeah, I know. That's stretching it, but still.

believe it or not its good news, its self promotion, Alot of times people download something and if they play it alot they will buy that product or the next one that comes out.

I know that how my cousin got his E-net Product a go round, He upped it on a torrent site, and the next month he doubled his profit from the month before. (His Product Was a Browser That was build off of net something, they found out he wa using ther codes, and told him to end his product or they was going to sue) But he mad about 8k in 4 months and I think 6 k came in the last 2 months after he upped it on the torrent site.

I think it was Supernova.org back in 2002.

Actually my point was that it wasn't cracked and there was no protection at all on the game. At least make it so only a talented cracker can do it and not anyone with the game.

The problem is that E-Licensed games are too hard to get cracked, but now with the CD-Version will be too easy to make copys
