I have updated Lahman database

I have a beta version of the new lahman database. I am willing to share if someone has a place I can store it. It is 5.87 MB. I can also e-mail it if anyone wants it. It contains all 2004 stats.

readme shows version 5.1 and it says up to 2003?

i guess 2004 stats was added just to version 5.1 database

for importing what option you highly recommend

1) adjust hitters with less than AB
2) adjust pitchers with less than IP
3) make bad hitters with less than AB
4) make bad pitchers with less than IP
5) talent rating based on
6) make generic L/R splits

However some problems maybe Markus can chime in...

There is not an easy work-around that I'm aware of to get:

* Start a season in 2005 with this set as a basis WITH 2004 stats showing up in the career totals.

If you import directly, you must start with 2004. Their 2004 stats overwrite the 2003 stats on the career stats page.

The other option doesn't work like it should either:

Release all the players into a draft from above. Place this players.dat file into your /Create folder. Start a new league in 2005, and draft each player to their respective team.

I had the same problem last year when I had to manually go back and edit every player to add in the 2004 stat line.

What I DONT understand is: the 2004 stats show up if you click on the initial battings stats button, however they do NOT show up on the career totals....Very odd indeed.

Markus, anyway to get this file to work starting a league in 2005, with the proper career stats showing up????

i think you should release that one to all....i think the first database you sent is not any good because it doesnt keep the 2004 stats in career stats. If you import directly, you must start with 2004. Their 2004 stats overwrite the 2003 stats on the career stats page.

that why this is a beta database..this guy added the 2004 stats to latman database 5.1

but wait for his new one that he just fix..so you can start in 2005 and keep 2004 stats in the career stats...
