Unhappy Game Problem

Here's hoping for some help...

-Been playing since the day OOTP4 came out with this download of the .exe file.
-Memory and everything checks out. Actually recently upgraded my cpu processor and motherboard and tripled their speed/capacity.
-Started having problems with only ONE of my .lg files
-The game slows down horribly, stops responding on a regular basis, forcing me to do a CTRL-ALT-DEL to reboot while the game is open to this one particular .lg folder.
-I am the commissioner of this league and owners are not having the same problem after they get my zip files from the FTP server.
-Today, the game stopped responding right as the SAVE bar was to the very end when it quit responding.
-I rebooted the cpu and reopened the game. The schedule had flipped to the next day signalling the end of the previous day.
-I zipped the league file and it was only 926K in size rather than the normal 3.5mill + in size.
-The player folder had somehow moved into the NEWS folder.
-This was duplicated in ALL my .lg files.
-I had one owner do a download of the .lg zip file off the FTP site.
-He started a new .lg folder for the league solely for this one download.
-The download was corrupted somehow and he got an INVALID PAGE DEFAULT.
-He deleted that file and tried to open the old .lg file that he did NOT overwrite.
-That older file would also NOT open.

I have completely deleted EVERYTHING OOTP off my cpu and am currently redownloading the .exe file off the OOTP site to reinstall the game from scratch.

Any clue as to my potential problem and why this is evidently corrupting other .lg files other than the ones it's unzipped into?

There is supposed to be a players folder inside the NEWS folder, this is where the player history.txt files are saved

OK. So that isn't the problem.

-I redownloaded the game and reinstalled it from scratch.
-The default career.lg file opens but the game still runs choppy.
