Off season housekeeping has resulted in the following openings: Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Milwaukee, Baltimore, San Francisco.

To claim a team, visit the forum and post your name, e-mail and AIM info in the NEW OWNERS thread. There's no application process -- just first come, first served.

SOOSimBL is a stats only league, with stars enable for the barest level of AI-influenced player evaluation. The league is a real challenge for OOTP vets, and many commissioners from other leagues battle it out for supremacy here. If you're tired of staring at ratings and want to thoughtfully analyze stats for a change like a real MLB manager, this league could be right for you, too.

Teams are going to begin posting their Amateur Draft picks next week

, so now would be a very good time for a new GM to put his stamp on a team. BAL has the #4 pick, SF has the #11, MIL #12 and PIT #20.

As for minor league systems, BAL is #9 (with the #2 overall pitching prospect), MIL #10, PIT #28 and SF is last overall with #30 (but they have a good stable of highly ranked veterans).

people, this is a great league. there is a great core of gm's who are active, to go along with a good commish. we had a great first year, and the second year is only going to get better. join now before it's too late

The Orioles have been taken. Giants, Diamondbacks, Brewers and Pirates still open as we begin the Amateur Draft.

BAL open again (I think this owner must not have realized initially this is a stats-only league).

For anyone who has ever wondered how good they really are, taking the Orioles in a stats-only league is probably the ultimate challege. This Orioles teams hasn't been ruined by a succession of novice owners yet. So, if you want to take that challenge, now is the time.

I joined BECAUSE it was a stats-only league. Some other issues arose and they forced me to back out.
