So...Mike Tice
Vikings are done; but if you watched the game, you would have heard that Mike Tice has the potential to win Coach of the Year. In their defense, they did say that he doesn't have much of a chance because he lost tonight and the team didn't make the playoffs - but he had a chance before tonight!
Discuss. |

He's gone. It wouldnt kill me to see him back one more year but the coach of the year talk is utter nonsense and always has.
Even when we recovered, remember.....we were supposed to be at least that good.

I support the idea that the Vikings played better with Brad Johnson at quarterback simply because Johnson refused to follow Tice's instructions!!!

HAHA. Anyone see that Brad called for the FG with 15 seconds left down by 10? Tice never would have thought of it...

Well Brad couldn't throw a pass 40 yards in the air. He obviously knew his own limitations.

Before the last game? I mean his contract is up. He doesnt have to go out like that.

Ok, let him coach the last game, then fire him!

I don't care when it happens...as long as it happens before this coming July.

I'd rather see him fired than to see him remain unsigned to a contract.

Coach of the Year will probably go to Dungy, especially considering everything that's happened in the past week or so. The three most deserving coaches who don't lead Indianapolis are Lovie Smith, Mike Holmgren, and Marvin Lewis (not necessarily in that order).

I can't believe Tice was even considered for coach of the year. The only reason he was even considered was because he got off to a bad start which should've taken him out of the running right away.

With Mike Martz in the hospital, he is the worst coach in the league by far. Martz at least put up some competition.

I hadn't heard Tice being called coach of the year until the announcers said it. BTW, those announcers (Mike Patrick, Joe Theismann, Paul Maguire) suck horribly.

I think tice is gone no matter what happens this sunday simply because most of our fans want him gone. Next week if the Bears beat us and mostly play their subs and we play our starters and lose he's definely gone. From a draft pick perspective and since we have nothing to gain by winning I hope they lose since many teams will finish at 9-7 and we could jump up 3 to 5 slots in the draft by losing. Back to Tice - before firing him the question needs to be asked who out there is availble and significantly better for a coach? If there is a good choice at least we have an owner now who will pay the freight for a top notch coach.
Happy New year all |
