What's wrong with this baseball card
I found this great website with images of old baseball cards (check out the new avatar) and randomly came across this card that had me going huh?

I was thinking that too, and it's probably right. But it still looks strange.

I think it's the hand. Left over right but it suggests that he's right handed, so it's really odd.

Didn't Aaron bat cross-handed? It's possible that any number of lessor known players had odd grips too. Although the artist's own mix-up seems likely.

I recall reading once that when he started, Willie Mays hit cross handed, and had it changed when the Giants got him in their farm system.

I haven't found out yet if Jethroe hit cross-handed, but I did find this very interesting article about the man and his part in the same "tryout" the Red Sox had for Jackie Robinson in 1945.

The steals don't have anything to do with his batting grip.
