Commishes...

I'm working on putting together a service that would be exclusively for OOTPers for free and extremely cheap hosting for leagues.

I've only ran a league once and it was a while ago...I was wondering if you could tell me how much B/W you guys use on an average day/week/month (whatever you got, I can do math and how much disk space.

Thanks.

The HPBL uses 316 MB of web space and I expect that to grow when the league starts archiving leagues and uses CATO, and used 6.02 GB of bandwidth (in November 2005).

The WCBL uses 1.7 GB of web space, and uses 1.77 GB of bandwidth (in November 2005)

for this I'd recommened finding the big leagues. Ones with a lot fo history (aka CATO, and a lot of action.

TWB, the Malestrom, and the two BLOC's are good places to start asking, they'll be your benchmark

current Im at around 125 MB, with 100 MB waiting in the wings with the almanac and the 125 MB is only with a quarter of the logos done and 1 year of catobase under my belt....things will grow exponentially Im sure. I've seen unlimited hosting (storage and bandwidth) for about $9-10 a year...any plan like that, but cheaper I would be interested in.

He must have meant $9-10 a month...any much cheaper than that and you should probably be worried about the quality (and perhaps legitamacy) of the host IMO.

yeah I meant $9.95 a month, paid once a year, but its a 20 GB limit, not unlimited as I had remembered. I think there might be another plan that is unlimited for both. Either way its not a bad deal imo.

The ABC uses 500 MB, that includes 22 years of Cato.

I don't have any of the OOTP almanacs up, because 20 years of those is 500 MB all by itself.

I use freewebs.com for mine http://www.freewebs.com/ptsslp2/PTSSL/index.html and I'm so far only paying $22 a year. 200mb harddisk, only 1 gb bandwith, which we exceed about halfway through the month, they threatened that ads where going be shown to pay for the extra bandwidth but as of yet no-one has seen any. Plus the added feture of useing them is you can zip up your html folder, upload it to the site, and unzip it there, saves me about 45 min of uploading time.

Their free serves won't work for OOTP hosting needs but by getting thier webs unlimited ($10 a year) gives you unlimited number of files (up to your max webspace). Your webspace will also be increased to 100Mb. In addition, your monthly bandwidth limit will increase to 1,000Mb (1Gb). Then for $12 a year you can incress your harddisk space by 100mb. you can get as many 100mbs as you wish for $12 apeice.

If they ever start inforcing thier bandwith rules (and the ads become a pain) you can also raise your bandwith but this is where they would start to get expensive 3gb for $25 every 6 months, 9gb for $45 every 6 months, or 50gb for $150 every 6 mothts
