Didn't hear all the criticism when he hit the Grand Slam to give his team the lead the other night. How about the single in late innings in another recent game. Walk off homer ring a bell (oh, wait, he threw his helmet up in the air so that one doesn't count)?

Nope. It doesnt count against him. But the comment was directed at the idea that Player X getting 3 hits when his or her team is down by double digit runs is somehow clutch.

If A-Rod were truly as great as everyone thinks he is, he would have taken the mound when it was 2-0 and prevented the other 17 runs from scoring.

Of course, playing all 8 positions would have been a great help as well.
