Microsoft Excel Universe Spreadsheet

I have created an excel file that helps me track the status of my universe. I wanted to share a copy in case anyone else finds this helpful.

The file needs to be opened in Microsoft Excel and depending upon what version of excel you have you may receive an error. The file is an .XLS file, if you do receive an error try changing the extension to an .XLSX file.

You will see two tabs. The first tab will be your roster file. Here you can paste / add the list of your fighters from your universe. The third column can be used for anything, I always have the fighters real record in this column. There is nothing else you should ever have to type on this page as all of the remaining columns are set with formulas to carry over fight results. This will display the fighters record in your universe as well as the date of their last fight (Helps greatly when scheduling fights). If you scroll down you will see the universe totals (Wins, KO's, TKO's, Losses, etc.)

The second tab is for your bouts. You would enter the date and boxers name in column E. When you run the fight you go in and enter the results in column's I-O. Everything else on this page is set up with a forumula. You will see what the fighters record is at the time of the fight and how many bouts they have had.

I use this two ways. If I run a card or bouts in the scheduler, when I am done I copy and paste the info into the spreadsheet to calculate. When I am scheduling bouts, I enter the boxers on the bouts tab. You will see on the top row there are filters. You can filter by the boxer and you will get a list in order of their fights. The way each bout is set with two rows will result in always being able to filter by any boxer and still see the opponenet. Remember you only have to add the fighters into column E, Column D, F, G, and H auto populate.

Anyway, let me know if you have any questions. Have fun!

I have added fight results in the bouts tab and nothing carries over to the roster.

Make sure your fighters are listed on the Roster tab, then when you add the bouts to the bouts tab the records will carry over. Remember I have some hidden columns on the bouts tab so if you are adding rows make sure you copy and fill down for columns through Z. If you need further instruction / help just let me know. I have several revisions since including formulas for next available fight date if anyone is interested.

You should be able to - Give it a try, just set that application as the application to open .xls or .xlsx files.

I have a new version that has some big improvements. Only issue is the forum will not let me upload XLSX files, which is a newer excel file version. When I convert the file to an XLS file it is too large to upload. Any ideas on how to upload an XLSX file?

I use webroot for my virus protection program...It blocks Ge.tt/ as potentially containing Malware

Use AVG myself, don't get no warnings.

Sure there are plenty of other options available.

OK, I have uploaded the new veriosn of the spreadsheet.

Two tabs, one for your roster one for your bouts.

On the roster tab you enter the boxers name (Also game rating, Class and real record if you would like). If you automatically add records to fighters in TBCB you can add these statistics manually to columns T-AA. If you sim all of your fights you can leave these columns blank.

On the bouts tab you enter the fight date and class and the 2 boxers. As you will see with the examples I included, I add the fight on two lines with boxer #1 in column D and Boxer #2 in column G, then I also add the bout again with the boxers in the opposite columns. I do this so when I sort or filter I will always have the record of both fighters complete.

After you run you bout, you simply put a "1" in the appropriate W/KO/TKO/L/D/ND/DQ fields. Everything else on both sheets autopopulates. You will be able to see on the bout tab what bout # it is for both fighters before their fight, you can filter by boxer to see a list of all of their fights with opponenets names and records at the time of the fight. You can sort the Bouts tab by date, by fighter or any way you want, it does not matter because your statistics and bout numbers will always autopopulate.

The roster page will also autopopulate to show how many bouts a fighter has had, what their current record is, their last fight date, win and KO %'s.

I will filter by last fight date when creating bouts to make sure I only use fighters that are available to fight.

I find this a useful tool to see all universe data in one place. It may take a little time initially setting up the roster to include all of your boxers, I exported the CSV file and copied and pasted. If you can get use out of it great. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks
