Bug with traded picks
Well this is definitely a bug. I don't know if anyone else has seen this but here goes.
My online league used the "Draft pick trade" feature for the first time in the 1964 season. What happened was draft picks disappeared from teams not even involved in any trades whatsoever. The game randomly took picks from teams and gave them to others. About 70% of the "actual" traded draft picks ended up in the right place but others didn't. Now here's where it get's funnier... Seeing that the new "feature" was a complete failure, I decided that I would no longer use it. So in 1965, any traded picks were noted outside the game and I have planned to manually move players after the draft. So we move on to 1966. I check the draft order and, to my surprise, the game appears to be repeating last years traded draft picks. Baltimore had San Francisco's #1 pick in 1965 via a real trade but here it was again! Baltimore again has San Francisco's #1 pick. Why? I'm wondering if San Francisco will perpetually be giving their #1 pick to Baltimore every season. Too soon to tell. Well there it is. A frustrating BUG.

f.motoya,
Yes, those traded draft picks will continue on forever. It's a known bug, that I'm testing a fix for in 6.5b right now. One possible alternative that SEEMS to work, but I haven't played through, is after the start of the new season, delete the "tradedpicks.dat" file from your league folder. That seems to reset the picks. Won't address the random pick movement issue you're describing though. |
