AAA Charlotte Knights sweep Cleveland Indians!

Na, Na, Na, Na
Na, Na, Na, Na
Hey, Hey, Hey
Goodbye...

Ahhh... Man that felt good. All this talk of collapse, and it would appear Cleveland would be the one collapsing. Feels good doesn't it Erigjaffe? Was there really any doubt?

All I have to say is lookout Boston.

You must be delighted. To go from a 15 game lead to clinching a spot with 3 games left in the regular season is some achievement. No collapse there.

AAA Charlotte? Dayam, Pale Hose fans got a serious inferiority complex goin' on. I hope they win a game or two in the playoffs, purely for therapeutic value.

Gibson swings, and a fly ball to deep right field! This is gonna be a home run! Unbelievable! A home run for Gibson! And the Dodgers have won the game, 5 to 4; I don't believe what I just saw! I don't believe what I just saw!

The playoffs don't matter unless you win the championship, and the White Sox aren't going to win the championship. So congratulations on being one of twenty-eight runners-up.

Maybe he meant league championship? I suppose one could consider winning the AL or NL, but losing in the World Series a success. That or he just can't count.

Meant 29. Sorry, forgot how intolerable mistakes are around this place.

Yep, look out. The team hasn't won a playoff series in nearly 90 years - they're just a bit overdue.

Sorry man. It was hairy there at the end, but I didn't have any doubt. Too bad the original White Sox in '05 thread was lost. I remember saying that Ozzie would have the guys ready to play vs Cleveland. We took 4 of the last six from them.

I guess I am an idiot. Does that make you an *******?

Had we lost the lead, then yes that would be collapse. Clinching the AL Central by 5 games is not a collapse.

Yes, we are very over due. The 2000 team didnt have the pitching or the defense. 1993 looked good as well, but we ran into a very good Blue Jays team.

Ahh, I would expect no less from a Chicago fan. First you can't admit that didn't have one single, solitary moment of doubt (which is complete BS, because a) this is sports... anything can and will happen, so nothing is a sure bet and b) you're a Chicago fan). Then you have to get profane. That's pure class.

I just decided to root for a different colored Sox in the playoffs. I'd hate to see how MC reacts if the WSox actually advance in the playoffs.

Meh, one person shouldn't choose what tearm you root for in the playoffs. As for me, I'm thrilled that the White Sox are in the postseason. I'm one to admit that I was damn scared the last few weeks of the season that we were going to blow it.

It should be a fun series at any rate, not the least because a good buddy of mine is a Red Sox fan so we've been talking a little smack back and forth.

Normally it wouldn't. But I was on the fence. I had planned on rooting for the WSox (unless they met the Angels somewhere along the way) because of Paul Konerko being on the team and the fact that they haven't won anything since when?

Most of the time when I don't care much who wins or loses, I wait until I start watching the series and I'll find myself reacting positive when one team scores and reacting negative when the other scores, and that lets me know where my feelings are and I go with it for the rest of the series. But as it is, if anyone but the Angels make it to the series, I won't have much to root for. In the past I definitely would have gone RSox, but they had there moment of glory and quickly became annoying. Whereas the Yankees have been annoying for quite a while which left me rooting for the Angels and WSox. But now I'll just root for Angels and then hope for the best. As it stands, I don't care much for 7 of the 8 teams in the playoffs so I'll just have to enjoy the sport of baseball regardless of who is playing and root for all the series to go their full 7 or 5 games (whichever the case may be) so that we get the most baseball. Nothing worse than a sweep of the series like last year.

Good grief. Talk about over reacting. Buttons called me an idiot, so I retaliated. Whatever man...

You know, it's been awhile since we had a team look this good, I am excited about it is all. Nice to see all these stereotypes of Sox fans come to the forefront though.

Buttons wasn't sure you were an idiot, but you asserted that you held the idiotic position two weeks ago that the White Sox were in control and you had no worries.

It went kind of like this:

BobButtons: An idiot says what.

MogulChamp: What?
