Official 2005 Atlanta Braves Season thread

Am I allowed to have two of these?

This one should write itself, lots of Braves fans around here. All good people to a man/woman

Anyways, playing today against Florida in Miami.
Of course the stadium is half filled.
That is just pathetic, the Marlins put out a good club every season but the fans don't support them. Just sad.

Game is about to start. I have been waiting all winter for this.

DAMNIT!

Giles may of already hurt himself. Slide into second and jammed his leg into the bag. I think he hurt either his knee or ankle

Which is, of course, entirely besides the point. But then, you knew that

Nope
But as long as I have followed the Braves (7 years) they have always gotten off to a slow start.
John and Bobby and Leo will work out the kinks within a few weeks.

There was 50,000 plus fans there. How is that pathetic?

It was my bad, and I apologize.
The pictures I saw were on mlb.tv webcast and half an hour before game time.
I saw blimp shots and the upper decks were devoid of fans. I also forgot that they played in a football stadium.
I heard the once it was over 35,000 but 50k is very suprising.
Hopefully that keeps up throughout the season.

Again, I made a mistake and I am sorry for the comment.

Yankee opening day: 54,818 (95.4% full)
Tiger Opening Day: 44,105 (109.9% full)
Oriole Opening Day: 48,271 (100.2% full)
White Sox: 38,141 (81% full)
Devil Rays: 26,018 (59.4% full)
Mariners: 46,249 (96.8% full)
Pirates: 38,016 (99.1% full)
Reds: 42,794 (101.7% full)
Phillies: 44,080 (101.3% full)
Rockies: 47,661 (94.5% full)
Diamond Backs: 45,539 (92.9% full)
Marlins: 57,405 (158% full)
Giants: 42,788 (102.9% full)

So the Marlins were filled over capacity and had the most people on Opening day.

35,000 is probably what they will average through most of the year. Unless Delgado continues to hit like a champ.

One of the Braves announcers mentioned that the Fish should draw over 2 million this season, after drawing less than a million a couple years ago. I hope the fans are finally back - Wayne has been gone a long time.
