Putin Takes Off With Superbowl Ring
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2096909
Funny stuff. I wish I could have seen Kraft's face when he put it in his pocket.

I heard it wasn't intended, but didn't want to say anything that may cause some sort of international incident.
Just means he'll have to go out and win another this season. |

If you're blue and you don't know
where to go to why don't you go see if that ring fits Putin on the Ritz Different types who wear uniform pants with stripes and cutaway sleeves perfect fits Putin on the Ritz Dressed up like a million-dollar Ruskie Tryin' hard to look like Tedy Bruschi (super duskie) Come let's mix where Robert Kraft walks with sticks or Super Bowl rings on his mitts Putin on the Ritz

According to Kraft he showed it to him and after he saw how impressed Putin was by the ring, he offered to give it to him. I don't buy it.
Although I wouldnt mess with Putin.

Doesn't this give us casus belli against Russia? I think we should use it before it runs out.

If Tony Blair had done the same thing, would anyone have noticed?

Like Jonzard mentioned, Kraft is now saying that he saw Putin was impressed with it and decided to give it to him. So is it the media once again jumping to a story that isn't there or Kraft doing damage control. I'm guessing damage control, but any other thoughts?

I'm 95% sure it's damage control. Super Bowl rings are very highly prized (even if you've won 3 lately) and I'd think he'd be more likely to have one specifically made for Putin than to give away his. Also, is Kraft really a longtime admirer of a former KGB agent?

Kraft has probably used this line before to impress political figures. I can see how it usually goes:
Kraft: Yes, Mr. President, this is the latest Super Bowl ring. Nice isn't it? Well, would you like to have it? GWB: No, no, I couldn't take something like that. How 'bout a jersey, or a cap, or something? -- Kraft: Yes, Mr. Prime Minister, this is the latest Super Bowl ring. Nice isn't it? Well, would you like to have it? Tony Blair: Honestly, sir, I could not accept such a generous gift, but your thoughtfulness is greatly appreciated. -- Kraft: Yes, Mr. President, this is the latest Super Bowl ring. Nice isn't it? Well, would you like to have it? Putin: Da.
