RE:Engine Settings ... Does v6.5 = v6 ?

I'm trying to tweak my league to get results I'm happy with, and I'm wondering if v6.5 is the same as v6 in regards to the League Totals in the engine settings.

From what I think I remember the last time I toyed around with this was that everything was opposite what I would think. (IE - I wanted higher batting averages around the league, I would subtract from the hits in the league totals).

Yes, it's still the same.

It actually makes sense if you can find a post I made awhile back. The issue is your adjusting the league totals AFTER the players have already been created.

Not at all. A player who hits .270 in a league who's total batting average is .250 is more valuable in the league than one who hits .270 in a league with a batting average of .280. Same kind of concept applies. If you want your hitters to be more valuable (have a higher average), then you reduce the average of your league by reducing the hits. Applying that logic to ratings, a guy with a contact or power rating of 7 will hit for better average or more power in a league that has lower overall totals than one with higher totals in the Settings page.

Others have explained it better than I can, but that's the way I see it. Maybe someone can link to one of the old explanations. (don't have time at work to search for it).

HR specific question

Let me make sure I've got this right! Here are the league totals for my league:

AB: 165,582
Hits: 43,272
Doub: 9,000
HR: 5,059
AIBP: .296

My top HR guys in each league hit 42 and 38 HRs. 10th best in each league were 27 and 28 HRs. Top RBI guy in all of baseball was 125, NL leader was 118. 12 guys in total drove in 100 runs.

I want to alter the settings above to add offense. I'm looking for a HR leader with maybe 47 - 50 Hrs, with maybe 5 guys over 40 and 15 guys over 30. For RBIs, I'd like to see maybe 25 guys drive in 100. So....I know that I lower the hits, doubles and HRs above, but by how much? If I lower the HRs by 10% to 4,550, will it result in a HR increase of approx. 10%?

Yes. Remember also that decreasing HRs (increasing results) will increase ONLY HRs, not BA (since hits remains the same)
