Holy Cow My Team is Bad

I'm using HaloFan's June update for the 2005 rosters, managing KC.

May has been particularly brutal.

Anyone have any tips for improving a miserable team like KC? I've been watching the waiver wire like a hawk and I'm hoping to improve with the June draft, but it's starting to seem like an impossible task.

It's not going to happen overnight, that's for sure. KC is an excellent team to start a career with though.. you'll just have to use your GM skills and build a team that comes together at the right time.

You're fired, and Buddy Bell is hired.

It seems the secret was to post here. I've just taken two straight from the first-place Red Sox.

I'm only 16 games back now!

If you were an AI manager, I'd fire you.

Halofan's 2005 set with the Expansion Las Vegas Aces.

well the link works if I cut and paste in the browser, but doesn't seem to work off this page.

29-47 18 games out of the AL West. I did have a 6 game winning streak that I thought was going to spark my team out of the basement last week but we've followed that up with a 5 game losing streak.

Success???

ok so sorry about writing two posts about one topic, but i wrote out what i am saying and then i submitted it and everything was deleted so i wanted to test to see if i could post..... anyways....

i have the same setup as exodor: kc royals, halofan roster, manager career on hard. however i am still using ootp6, which may be the reason for my success

it is approaching the all-star break and my kc royals are an average 41-43... but for the royals this is spectacular.... the roster probably doesnt look like the real royals which maybe what you are attempting to do... i have made quite a few trades and a few waiver pickups.... but so far this is a pretty good team.... for the royals that is.....

one of the main reasons my team is doing well is mike sweeney.... he is leading the al in hr with 22 on 7/9/2005.... so i am thinking that a contender might be interested in sweeney around the deadline.... he is on the block.... plus i added kotchman from laa to replace him if he leaves....

i was thinking that i might do a dynasty on the rebuiling of the peasants..errr.. the royals... what do you think??? does my success merit a dynasty? is it cheating to write up your dynasty at the end of the first year?

also if anyone is interested in hearing more about my team just let me know.... not really sure if anyone would be, but i just thought i would throw that out there.....

SHARING THE SUCCESS.....ERR....UMMM....AVERAGENESS, OF MY ROYALS

Ah, that helps explain it.

Here are the numbers through 5/16/2005

Sweeney's been on a tear lately - he hit about .200 for April

I don't think Greinke is ready for the bigs just yet.

playing manager career on HARD actually makes your players perform worse, giving them worse stats than they would actually have playing for another team. Manager mode should never be played on anything but normal.

It's true. If you put it on hard it skews your team's stats to favor the computer teams... and makes it... um, hard.

I used to put it on Very Hard until I knew better. I just thought it meant the AI was smarter. Doh!

Wow Exodor. These Royals are almost as bad as your 4OTP Royals.
