Calling all CATO / CatoBase experts - Need help with contraction problems
The online league I run (wbfbaseball.com) began in the 2004 season and is about to hit the playoffs for the 2009 season. CATO worked fine for 2004-2006. At the beginning of the 2007 season we contracted 4 teams. After the 2007 season CATO began giving me problems. At first, I figured it was due to the contraction, but after browsing some threads on the OOTP board (in which leagues have added/contracted teams without any CATO problems), I'm not so sure.
Here's what happens when I try to run CATO after the 2007 season: The importing of the stats works just fine. The problems begin when creating the web pages. When it gets to creating the Fielding registers I get an "Error 13: Type mismatch has occurred." I click "OK" and then get a "Error 55: File already open has occurred." when it is trying to create the Win Share Registers. I click "OK" and continue to get that error a few times until it finally gives me a "Error 3265: Item cannot be found in the collection corresponding to the requested name or ordinal. has occurred." while creating the Minor Leagues Leaderboards. I have zipped up the league data folder and the Batting, Fielding, and Pitching tables from the Cato database. They can be found here: http://www.wbfbaseball.com/wbf-cato.zip Now, what I ended up doing was keeping the 2004-2006 CATO as "pre-contraction CATO" and just starting a new "post-contration CATO" with the 2007 season. When I ran the CATO utility fresh with the 2007 season as the first season, it worked fine. If at all possible, though, I would really like to find a way to have 1 continuous CATO. Sorry to be so long-winded, but I am at the end of my rope with this problem and am hoping that someone here on the OOTP boards will be able to help! Any help you can provide will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Doug commish@wbfbaseball.com P.S. Everything involving this problem was still with ver. 6.12 of the game. |

I looked at the fielding csv. You have records that will cause CATO to blow in the file..... You have records that have 0 in the games and games started column but with innings attached to it. You can not play in an inning without being in a game. Also some of the records with the 0/0 games situation have weird innings played records. Example some had .1 IP others .5 IP they must be either .333 or .667 or .000. Clear out those 6 records and CATO will run fine.
CATOBASE is sensitive when it starts calculating the WINSHARES, if an error is found the program doesn't have very good error handling and just gives you the errors you listed...... Last edited by SandMan; 07-12-2005 at 05:41 PM. |
