Contract Extensions
In my opinion, this is the weakest part of the game. It needs to be improved - DRASTICALLY. The players think they are FAs when they have 1 year of MLB service all the way up until 5 years and 171 days. Another huge thing I get pretty mad at is, I am the GM of the Blue Jays in an online league. Their record is 28-10, Major League best. I tryed to re-sign 2 good players and they said they wanted to play for a winning team...I think this needs to have a lot of work put into it.

Probably true. The 1-year to 5-171 thing is that they "think" they are FA's, but they aren't because of the ARB rules. You could still extend them past (like the A's did with a few guys) so that's why they act like FA's
Early season extensions AI is a little off. Wait till say July and if you still have the best record, it *should* be fixed.

Were you expecting him to say "I want an automatic re-sign at the league minimum for two more years"?
That seems pretty unrealistic to me if you're going to click on the "OFFER extension" button. |
