Injured Minor Leaguer
In checking my team I saw that one of my minor leaguers had a season ending injury. He's also on my 40-man roster. I was hoping to put him on the disabled list so as to make room on the 40-man roster but it said I can't put someone from the minors on the DL. Can I bring up to the majors and then put him on the DL? Is this how the majors handles it?

You are supposed to be able to put him on the 60 day dl.

I tried by dragging him from his minor league team to the DL. Do I have to drag him from the 40-man roster to the DL?

I can't remember exactly, but try that, it should work.

Ok, that didn't work either. Whether I try to move him from AA or from the 40-man roster the message comes up that you can only place players from the active roster on the DL. Will the game let me call him up and place him (albeit injured) on the active roster only to then move him to the 60-day DL? How would the major leagues handle this?

What version of the game are you running?
At one point you could put minor leaguers on the DL but people were misusing the DL and complained when there were issues when taking minor leaguers off the DL(even though they should not have been on the DL in the first place). So one of the patches removed the ability to put minor leaguers on the DL, but it was fixed again in 6.12 so that you can place minor leaguers who are on the 40 man roster on to the 60 day DL.

I don't think I've updated with the 6.12 patch yet. So, that may be my problem.

Along sort of the same lines, I had a 20 year old Single A pitching product go down yesterday 4 games into my first season with bone chips in the shoulder-career ending injury. It was release city for that guy. Time to go back to school.

I updated my game with the 6.12 patch and it solved the problem. I now have an extra spot on my 40-man roster. Now all I need is a prospect to fill the spot.
