Couple suggestions should 6.5 be patched

I like the option in 6.5 of trading draft picks but there are strict limitations that could be improved slighlty to make it worth while. I am not sure how easy it is but here goes:

1. You can't trade just a straight pick for a player. I.e. John Doe for a 3rd round pick.

2. I deal a player for a pick and a player. I can't turn around and move that pick as I can only move my own picks. Not sure if this is hard to program or not.

3. I realize this is limited to one season, is there a possibility of adding a second season. This is just a bonus option if possible.

On another note, I would still like the option in the draft of being able to say no to the computer pick. Once you select comp pick you have no choice but to click ok.

I am surprised no commishes have commented on this. The current setup involving draft picks doesn't really help at all.

It's not hard to create a bogus player to fulfill the 1st item - I have to do it all the time for proper waivers implementation in the online format.

2nd item is indeed a pisser. You should be able to trade picks that you previously acquired.

I agree with everything you said in the initial post. The league I commish trades picks, and having the changes you mentioned would make the process bulletproof.

Like mad0die says, you can always create a player and include them in the trade. What I do is have the team acquiring the draft pick send their worst scrub, a guy with no chance to ever, ever make the majors (every team has at least one), back the other way.

As far as trading a previously acquired pick, that's something I can't think of a workaround for. I don't see it happen too often, but it definitely happens, and it'd be good to fix 6.5 to allow it.

I use scrubs and trade players and draft editor all the time. That is not the point. If you want to add the trade pick feature for online leagues, then lets do it right. Doesn't hurt to suggest these things to Markus. We the users help make the game what it is. Markus just provides what we all want

And I do appreciate the time and effort he puts in! OOTP is easily the best sports sim I have used.

I honestly didn't expect any of these new 6.5 features to be "done right". That is what v7 represents to me. I also haven't bought 6.5 yet for this very reason.

I would also like to be able to trade picks for more than current season. Maybe a button that allows 2-3 seasons of draft picks. I would also like to see some html on who has whose picks.
