"Promotion" from the DL
I had a weird thing happen to me. My Tigers were heading for the playoffs and lost our all star left fielder, ace starting pitcher and gold glove catcher for several weeks each with injuries. I moved them to the DL, hoping to get them back in the playoffs. After moving into the second round, my LF anc pitcher were ready to return. I cleared the two AAA call-ups that were doing an admirable job taking their places and attempted to move them from the DL to the active roster. The game wouldn't let me! It said that there are no promotions allowed during the playoffs. I didn't think moving from the DL qualified as a promotion. It then wouldn't let me bring back the two replacements, giving me the same message. So I was stuck with my now 23 man roster and got swept out in the next round. Is this an actual caveat with the real life DL or just a minor headache that I need to remember come playoff time next season?

If there is a way around, I don't know. This happened to me with a team of mine. I cleared the room so 2 guys could come back, but no. I was so frustrated, I autosimmed the whole playoffs and they ended up winning it all anyway.
I haven't played with that league since. |

This is strange, because I have seen this problem posted before. What is strange about it, though, is that I have promoted a player between rounds in the playoffs. I made the moves on 10/22, with the first game of the World Series being played later that day. In my dynasty, I lost my starting RF, so I promoted a huge prospect to fill his roster spot after I had placed my RF on the DL.
I don't know if this is really an inconsistency, or if it is caused by certain settings. In the league settings, almost all of the advanced options are enabled, with the exception of minor league free agents. |

You have to make sure you make any roster moves in between rounds -- not the day a round ends or a round begins, but the off-day in between. This is actually in keeping with MLB rules, which only allow roster changes in between rounds.

It happened to me too. I had Pedro on the DL and was ready to play a week in the playoffs. I demoted Ishii so to move Pedro on my 25 man roster but it wasn't possible... So i continued the playoffs with 24 players...
