Pierre's draft utility and 6.5

Has anyone else noticed that Pierre's draft utility doesn't work with 6.5?

Does anyone know of a workaround? I use the utility to draft my 19th century players onto their correct teams, and any manual workaround is going to be very, very messy and will probably have to involve releasing and resigning players, which I really don't want to do since it tends to screw with how the engine views the financials.

what if you opened the league in 6.12 , set the draft order then go back to 6.5 & run the draft.

disclaimer: I have no idea what I am talking about so............................

I'm OUTRAGED that Markus did not notify us before releasing 6.5 that it wouldn't work with Pierre's draft utility.

Yeah, I know it's kinda funny, but I'm also pretty frustrated because I'm not sure what the best way forward is for my league. The draft editor has been fantastic for me so far. I suppose I'll wait for a day or so to see if there are any plans to adapt the draft editor, then just draft players onto the wrong teams, release them and put them on the correct ones. Ugh.

I would think if you run the draft in 6.12 and use the utility, it would work.

Can't you turn off financials, run the draft, then do the messy signing/releasing? I'm probably off but meh. +1 I guess.

Yeah, that's gotta suck. I wonder about some of the other utilities. Stickware?

Is Pierre still around? Maybe he can fix it eventually.

This doesn't work. 6.5 resets the order as soon as the league is imported.

This is the only thing I can think of that would work. Since you can't trade picks from the same round, turning on on-line mode won't work either.

Can't you switch the league to 6.12 do the draft, and then once you finish the draft switch it back so the players are already drafted on to the right teams?

Yeah, that's the only way it can be done right now.

I just did this - copied back to 6.12 and did draft, then copied back to 6.5. It looks like everything worked just fine. So the draft editor can be used, it's just a bit more of a pain in the ass now.

pierre's utilities are 3rd party utilities, and have nothing to do with markus and ootp developments.

pierre made it so you COULD trade draft picks to add to online play. MLB doesnt trade draft picks, so it was never added in the game. now markus HAS added a feature for online leagues to trade picks.

ist not markus's responsibilty to test all the 3rd party utilities out there before he releases a product. maybe you should make a new draft utility that will work with 6.5 instead of b*%$#ing about it and blaming Markus.
