Make a run for the border!
Established and long-running fictional Mexico-based league has vacancies.
La Liga Mexicana, the world's only OOTP6 Mexican League, celebrating over two years and nearly 10 seasons of existence, and the best thing since sliced tortillas, has two opportunities for new or experienced owners. If you're reliable, intend to be around for a while, and can use the internet, then this may be the chance of a lifetime. League Info: *) Formerly known as CDML (Crash Davis Mexical League), and had a direct association with both CDBL and CDIL (now IBA). When the CDBL folded (after 2006 season), CDML re-configured itself for complete independence, though it does share some indirect relations with IBA still. *) Fictional, Mexican League. Many teams are real Mexican League teams (past or present), but the players are fictional, as is league history. *) We're finishing up the postseason as 6.11, and will switch to 6.12 at the PtNS. *) Sims deadlines are Sunday 8pm, and Tuesday & Thursday at 6pm. Sims are generally 7/8 alternating schedule (with some minor adjustments to keep calendar smooth). Sims are run usually shortly after deadline. *) 1st season: 2005 (are finishing the 9th season) *) Teams: 20 (expanded from 16 in 2013). Plans to expand to 24 in 2016. *) No salary cap. $50M cash cap. *) Rule 5, Waivers, Minor League Options, MLFA, Arbitration, Signing Bonuses: All are turned On. *) DH used in all games. *) Other rules are used by the league to encourage participation and help increase the talent pool. See website or ask for more details. *) Of the 18 remaining owners, half have been involved with the league in one way or another since at least 2006, if not earlier. Considering 4 of the teams didn't even exist until this current season.... Team 1: Monclova Acereros (english: Steelers) *) A team with a poor performance history, it has improved its record each of the past 5 seasons, including the current one, with their first ever above-.500 record. *) Clinched their first post-season berth this season (2013) with a league-best 96-66 record. (On the other hand, they were third best in the entire league, behind 118 & 116 wins. But those two were in the other league.) *) While current season awards haven't been announced, has the best contenders for batter-of-year & rookie-of-year (same player) and pitcher-of-year. *) Has only had one owner (since early 2006; prior to that was a Commissioner-controlled team). Current owner -- that would be me -- is relinquishing control due to becoming Commissioner mid-season. If not for that, I'd be keeping this team. :P Team 2: Veracruz Rojos del Aguila (english: Red Eagles) *) Another team with a not too consistent history, their main issue has involved owners. They've have several owners the past few seasons, and have been run with little consistancy. *) Also weighing on Veracruz was a bit of financial irresponsibility a couple of seasons ago. They lost nearly $30M in one year, close to $40M over 3. Owners since have done most of the work to right the 'Cruz's boat, though, so little has to be done to improve their finances that hasn't already been taken care of. *) On the positive side, Veracruz isn't a team that needs much rebuilding. Most of their current team is returning, and despite having two owners and a month-plus of auto-piloting, they still finished second in their league, and in fact were neck and neck with the eventual division winner until mid-September. *) Combining that with the fact that, to be perfectly honest, Veracruz is in a relatively weak division -- the division that doesn't have the two 100+ game winners -- there should be little time before a good, steady owner has turned this team around and reaped the rewards. If you're interested -- and you know you are -- email me (click on the name in the sig) or PM me and I'll take very good care of you.

Both teams are still available. We've gone on to El Campeonato de Mexico.
Monclova was ousted in the Liga series, so is completely available to new ownership decisions, now. For those who are looking for "experienced Commissioners," I realize I'm not that, having only been in place for a month or so. But the previous Commissioner, Matt Alford, is still involved with the league -- he took over another team -- and is on hand to make sure I don't make too many rookie mistakes. And, as I've noted earlier, more than half of the owners have been around for most of the league's history, so we're a solid league that isn't going to disappear on you any time in the near future.

We have another ownership opportunity available:
Tabasco Olmecas (english: Cattlemen) Tabasco finished a game behind Veracruz, in the same division, but is a vastly different team. There's plenty of cash (will hit the $50M cap when the season is processed), and a very low payroll (one of three players over $5M and 5 of 11 over $1M are going into free agency). While the farm system isn't the tops (14th in the league), the team itself is still very young (mostly arbitration/auto-resigns), and can quickly be built in whatever direction a new owner wishes to go.

bump
Don't suppose anybody could at least say, "I'd join your league except..." so that I know what might need changing?

Bump. Still three teams available. El Campeonato de Mexico ends Thursday, and the 2014 offseason will start Sunday, so nows the perfect time to take one of these three verge-of-greatness teams.

We start the 2014 offseason on Sunday (will switch to 6.12 with the PtNS). Now's the perfect time to take over these two great teams.
