Over Salary Cap? Nothing Happened?

I just completed a trade and went over the salary cap by abou 1.5 million. Nothing happened, I was allowed to make the trade, go over the cap. My team salary shows the amount over the cap. What will happend? Will I now be prevented from making future transactions?

Bottom line is, the salary cap in OOTP4 is not a "hard salary cap". You can trade over the cap as much as you wish, and you're never forced to go under the cap if you started over it.

The only thing the cap does is prevent you from signing new players, or signing your own players to extensions if you are over the cap.

im not real sure of the details cuz even i cant figure it out, but if your over the cap u cant sign any new players or extend ur contracts for ur existing players so in essence it forces u to cut ur payroll til ur under the cap. and in trading ive found that it will say certain teams cant take on certain salaries if they are to high. i think if ur within two to three million its fine speciallly without there being a hardcap
