Possible to Play with MLB Teams but Fictional Rosters?

Title says it all. I have not seen how to do this in the game. Thank you!

It’s been a few years now, but this has been my favorite way to play for the past decade. I especially like to create a completely fictional MLB history.

To do this, I would:

- Start a historical game in 1901.

- Release all players to free agency and then delete them all. (There are quick functions for this). This will delete league history, however, since everyone is getting deleted.

- Generate fictional players for all teams. Again, this can be done with a simple click.

- Sim from 1901 to present day. Then take over a team or play as a spectator.

Voila, there’s my fictional MLB history.

So technically you should be able to do the same thing in your file. Release al players, delete them all, generate fictional players for all clubs. You’ll have a fictional MLB.

Actually, if I try this do I play as Commissioner? Thank you.

If you want to play modern day fictional with real teams, you can go to the league creation wizard and select Fictional. When you get to screen one of the fictional league creation wizard, look at the top right of the screen where it says "or select a real world league configuration. The first option is Major League Baseball, 3 divisions each, 14 minor leagues. Select that and you will all today's teams and all the players will be fictional.

I do this all the time, and it's really cool. It seems you need to manually load stadiums, otherwise all the MLB parks have the wrong dimensions, though.

True, this would certainly be easier and quicker than the method I mentioned above!
