Takes a very long time to start a game, normal?

Hi, I just purchased and thus I am completely new to this game. After the install, I'm trying to start a game, but it's been 30 minutes already that the game is working on some files(boxscore*.xml)

Is this normal?

No, it should not take that long.

More info needed. What type of league did you try to start?

Is it a Live Start? I think those can take quite a while.

Hi,

I tried to start a normal 2020 season for MLB(not the 60 shot season). Then, after watching a few videos, I restarted a new custom league(but entirely based on MLB, I just wanted to recreate the Expos as an expansion team

) and it took just as long.

Today though, I restarted a custom MLB league once again(learning from my mistakes on the expansion drafts!) and it took about 10 minutes. So, maybe it's because it was a brand new install, dunno.

Update: I installed it on my laptop to see, and starting a new game took less than 4 mins, so there is something interfering on my main computer(mybe the AV) and probably not related to the game. Thanks all

It was the antivirus. Strange, it barely registered on CPU, but I guess it was the multitude of small files scanned in memory that made i slow. I turned it off temporarily and it started under 30 secs.
