Season 23 (2042) Discussion
The Magpies lost the first 5 games and doubled the negativity to 9-19 to start 2042. Then I finally got the last card for the Tampa Bay collection (at 50% more than any other card I bought for it.) Prices have been steadily increasing for the collection which rewards you with David Price. Also, got Dutch Leonard 97 in one of the diamond packs, too. Together the team caught fire to win 70% during May and June to storm into wild card contention.
David Price in Perfect League last week: The reason I won't win my division this week. |

All my teams are getting humbled this week after promotions last week.
Corsairs opened the season with a 7-20 April, Rats & Scum weren't as bad from the start but its unbelievable how many of the players have been on cold streaks. Corsairs had a winning June record of 13-10 so there is that positive. Pulled a nice 2001 Mariano Rivera (think it was a 93) from a regular pack for the Scum and made him the closer, moving Joe Nathan to set up and he proceeded to blow his first three save opportunities and has blown five of nine so far. Typical :-) |

This Week in Perfect Team...
...the game decided to kick the crap out of the Huntley Red Raiders.

After starting out on fire, the Port Dawgs have faded a bit back to reality despite the number of what should be huge upgrades.
It's usually a given that if you start out having a great 1st half, the AI will punish you in the 2nd half and vice versa. At least that's the way it seems to treat the Dawgs every single season in Diamond.

My Croatia team just had a 13 game win streak! I am a slightly above .500 team and was super surprised to see such a boost from my team. Catapulted me to 77-56, .579 and launched me all the way to the top of the wildcard spot with now +9 games to a non wildcard spot.

Paragon City Heroes are currently having their best season in Diamond at 71-62. the mid season acquisition of Buck Ewing really turned things around for me, adds a lot of D behind the plate and my starters seem to have performed better. Honus Wagner has had his 1st bad season for me (.677 ops). I've just added Peak DiMaggio for the final month (best part about FOTF for me is the prices of some of the 100s being murdered when they get FOTF versions)
If my lineup wasn't so righty heavy i'd look at adding Peak Mays as well. I'm really hoping that the Reds include a lefty or switch hitter (Rose maybe) but i'll probably have to wait another month anyway, though Garry Maddox has been an absolute star in CF, ok OPS (.724) racked up 2.9 WAR and leads the league in RNG, ZR and EFF, absolute certainty for a Great Glove as things stand Lowdown Lugnuts got rebuilt in the offseason and that has resulted in a 95-38 record in silver after dropping from gold. the new additions, Alomar .875 OPS at 3b, (91) Carew .927 OPS at 1b and Dawson .812 OPS and leading the team in RBI/HR have all excelled but its pitching and defence where we have been dominant.

Check under Main--> Perfect Team Universe for details. Meanwhile, the Magpies enter September at a season high 16 games over .500, but although the Oracle likes my chances, I do not. My playing schedule is the toughest of the lot, by far. Adding FotF Mays notwithstanding the grim prognosis. |

![]() ![]() +++ BREAKING NEWS +++ Big changes coming to the organisation of Green Bay Croatia! As of now, these are only rumors but there is a chance that the team will change the name with the beginning of the next season. The new team name will be Croatia Dodgers!

D357 playoffs. The Seawolves managed to win their division. 1st round matchup Budapest Red Devils that won a Perfect title in the past.
Well at least we won our division and made the playoffs. ![]() ![]()

The Grackles managed to get through their season in Perfect with a 66-96 record (and a whopping minus 181 run diff). Started out an eye watering 4-24, including a 19 game losing streak. So 20 games under .500 on day 1, 10 for the rest of the season, 37-38 after the AS break! Strange considering I only shuffled the bullpen around a bit... A lot of my cards are kind of long term stand-ins until I can use my PP better, so I'm quite pleased with how they've got on. However, the jump from 66-96 to 96-66 is a bit like the difference between looking at the moon and standing on it
![]() Shoeless Joe hit a homerun in his final AB of the year - his 3rd of the season. Went at least 200 AB's between 2 and 3, and averaged a HR every 134 AB's. Seriously, that's the biggest anomaly that I've seen in PT yet. He must have rolled a lot of 1's to slug .330! In other news, KB have waited hundreds and hundreds of packs for their next historical perfect, and they got Chuck 'freakin' Finley! Why is that card soooo baaaad??? I wouldn't have imagined my pack only team selling a 100 FotF pitcher!!! Also, the Tinners made the playoffs for the first time in about 100 seasons ![]()

The Trojans, after struggling a bit due to my lack of knowledge around completing the Live missions (and spending a few $$$ out of frustration), have won their division the first time in Silver, going 92-70. I'm imagining the promotion to Gold will be a bit of a struggle, given my team has not expanded much beyond the typical SE players (and has a relatively weak infield for higher levels).
The Haymakers, a secondary team started just for fun, are a F2P team (lefties/switch only) that got lucky in pulling both a FOTF Seaver and Peak Ozzie Smith along with completing all of the Live missions. Seaver was sold, with Peak Whitey Ford, Peak Johnny Evers, and Peak Monte Ward being purchased in the AH with the profit. All that being said, the Haymakers went 146-16 in their Rookie League appearance. Highlights include Yaz with 12.9 WAR, Evers with a .472 OBP, Ward with 92 SBs, and a team ERA of 2.37.

In a season filled with Iron, my teams will all see Bronze (probably for a short time) next season as all three will advance.
Longview Woodchucks finish 87-75, division winners by 3 games. Decent starting pitching and not so bad batting this season saves our souls. Too bad we have to face a team that has won 110 in the division round. Nacogdoches Jacks finish 96-66, winning their division by five. Numbers look good all around except for stolen bases and base running. Now we face a bunch of clowns...(literally the team name is Clowntown Clowns). Stephanie's Neffin-neffs finish 97-65, winning by six. Same as the Jacks, good numbers except for the same and add defense, as they are making too many errors. Ralph Kiner crushes 51 homers....as they face a team overhyped on chocolate in the first round. Updates in six hours....

The Seawolves managed to eliminate Budapest, but fell short against the Bulls. Both teams stacked with the FOTF players.
I did manage to obtain FOTF Eddie Plank which got rocked in the playoffs.

The BattleCorgis will be back to Diamond after being relegated last season, but at least they managed to bring home another championship before heading to the basement. They were down 3 games to 1 in the Sub-league series but battled back to take game 7.
The YakAnglers won their division and had the best record in the conference, but fell 3-1 in the DS. They've yet been able to get to Diamond. The Marathoners finished as the 2nd wildcard and couldn't get past the 1st game. They under-performed all season, but we're glad for another season in Gold after being relegated last season. They can usually hang for a few season in Diamond but a loaded division does them in every time.

The Magpies made the playoffs despite the hard schedule mostly because the other teams played worse. Anyway, lost 5-4 in the WC game and the two teams in the league with 110+ wins played in the finals.
Pop Lloyd hit a 3 run homer, but made an error that led to the winning run. Cool Papa pinch running in the 9th gets caught stealing. Last edited by bailey; 08-30-2020 at 08:16 PM. |

Lowdown Lugnuts cruised to a silver title and back into gold after last seasons relegation, sweeps in the first rounds and finals sandwiched a 4-2 win over the only other 100+ win team. ichiro won MVPs in two of the series. They were my only postseason representatives. Mazeroski won a great glove, Koufax Pitcher of the year

Corsairs & Elitist Scum both go 77-95 and will stay put in Gold & Bronze.
Subway Rats tuck their tails after their humbling and head back to Bronze. Corsairs to share a league with the Huntley Red Raiders for a season, pretty sure Huntley will be back up to Diamond immediately. It'll be interesting to see how my boys do against them if we play each other. Rats & Scum to share a league (B250) would be cool if they play each other in the finals. |

Apologies to all but I forgot to come back to my three teams...
Woodchucks were slaughtered in the division series, losing three games to none. Jacks got to the conference championship but lost in six. Neffin-neffs fought, but lost the division series in five games. Onward to season 24.
